Wow the newfound mojo on this team is something. When we were down 3 or so with about 6 or 7 minutes left, Kopp came back in the game and was just clapping his hands and exhorting his teammates. Sure enough, he hit that clutch 3 from the top of the key soon thereafter. Audige was sensational down the stretch; he saved the best for last because the first 30 minutes or so was not pretty for him. He showed what he's capable of but his pressing has been a detriment. As the game slows down for him (and it did at the end tonight), he has the ability to just take over which is something we haven't seen since Tre Demps and, of course more recently, Boo Buie. I absolutely loved the fact that he drilled all 4 of his FT's down the stretch, which came off front-ends of one and ones. Miss either of the front ends and this game could easily have a different outcome; we've seen that play out way too many times over the past several years.
There is a lot of talent on this team and so many possibilities on offense that makes it exciting but what is most impressive is the guys all buy in on defense, nobody takes a play off, ever. That is the mark of good coaching and is what set Fitz apart in his tenure.
I hope Beran is okay because we'll need his defense, rebounding, and deep threat to keep opposing D's honest. Looked like he was doing okay after the game. Maybe some treatment and a good wrap or brace and he can get back out there on Saturday. Looking forward to the Ohio State game, that one is clearly winnable at this point and you just know the team expects to win.
