Below are my top three. at the moment. Offhand, the only candies I don't like are Necco Wafers, Peeps, Valentine Hearts, and Circus Peanuts.
Not candy but I loved me some big league chew as a kid.
Big League Chew. My mom wouldnt' let me have it, so when someone had it in the dugout during baseball games It was the best. I sucked at sports so chewing gum was the highlight o fmy career
it was also fun as a kid to eat warheads and see who could last the longest

i always loved root beer candy, hersheys special dark, and jelly beans at halloween.

Always loved fruit snacks of any kind - gushers, fruit by the foot, dots, etc. loved Twix candy bars. Also I’ve always loved black licorice. Figured I’d throw an unpopular one in there. Liked good n plenty’s.
The red box of Good n Fruitys were great...the non-licorice. I completely forgot about them.

Hot Tamales were an underrated theater candy I'd always get.
Reminder the days I could get my favorite 5th Avenue and 16 Oz bottle of Pepsi for 40 cents!

When I was real little, I'd "forget" my milk money for kindergarten and spend it at the candy store next to school. Candy Dots. Little colored sugar dots stuck on waxed paper. I don't even remember that they had much flavor.
At home, mom liked circus peanuts and orange slices so that's what we got.

My official answer is Kit Kats and nothing has changed.
Kit Kats are a good go to. The last time a candy thread popped up I was going through a pack of Japanese Kit Kats. Some were nasty (sake, beans) but there were orange and lemon/lime flavors that were great.
One of my favorite candies ever. They actually make these flavored ice freezer pops that I buy off Amazon. They are so damn good.
