Losing Smith Vilbert looks even like a bigger loss now.

This is what you get when PSU digs its heels in on the Chicken Cosmo issue.
Why don’t you get yourself an OSU shirt and hat then? This is what happens when you under-recruit along the important LOS positions. You can have all the DB's in the world, but they can't effectively edge rush or stop the inside runs for short/no gains.
Meanwhile Larry Johnson has enjoyed a steady stream of 4* and 5* DL players taking visits to OSU.
He isn't proclaiming his allegiance to tOSU....simply stating the truth of recruiting tendencies....we have a plethora of DBs and WRs but annually have concerns about DL, DE,, and LB.Why don’t you get yourself an OSU shirt and hat then?
That’s not completely accurate. PSU had a talented 3 deep at DT and DE last year. They lost a DE as the top 3 pick in the draft. One ran out of eligibility and one transferred. They return a 5 star, proven DE who looked unblockable at times last year, a highly rated recruit who transferred in from TX A&M, and a plethora of 4 star, but unproven, guys they recruited over the past few years. Losing Granville hurts, but let’s not pretend that Franklin and Co can’t identify talent. As I have said in the past, you can criticize Franklin for some things, but recruiting isn’t one of them. They also had a deep rotation at LB, but then Wylie got hurt and was out for the year, DeLuca spent some time out hurt, and Robinson had a lingering injury. It’s a rough sport. That’s how it goes sometimes. He isn't proclaiming his allegiance to tOSU....simply stating the truth of recruiting tendencies....we have a plethora of DBs and WRs but annually have concerns about DL, DE,, and LB.
I like and agree with most of your post....my only concern is with all this talent why the concerns we hear about position rooms? Do you feel having 15 WRs on the roster is adequate, customary, or a tad excessive? Yes football is a rough sport...reason some people feel more bodies in the combat rooms might be prudentThat’s not completely accurate. PSU had a talented 3 deep at DT and DE last year. If they wouldn’t have brought in more WRs after the debacle last year, the Franklin haters would have had a stroke from disbelief. As Steelers fan, it’s better than having too few WRs. They have about a three deep at DE still. Most are unproven players, but highly recruited. Someone, or several, will have to step up. With the new DC using a 4-2-5 scheme, maybe there’s a logjam at LB and they move someone from LB to DE? We’ll see how it all shakes out. DDS is a beast, they just need to find someone to play opposite him and give him a breather every now and then. Fisher and White are probably the likely guys to do that.I like and agree with most of your post....my only concern is with all this talent why the concerns we hear about position rooms? True - I know he was out for a couple of years, and not sure the entire reason. But, he was also the #1 target on the Transfer Portal window, based on some website's rankings (not sure which one), so he must have been worth something.10 tackles in 6 years.
Didn’t we also lose a talented DE and LB for off the field behavior? That’s not completely accurate. PSU had a talented 3 deep at DT and DE last year. They lost a DE as the top 3 pick in the draft. Yes. I forgot. At the beginning of last year. You are right.Didn’t we also lose a talented DE and LB for off the field behavior?
…with an undisclosed injury. Crap.
Also, is there a ‘2025 Football Season’ thread we should put news/discussion like this?
"Under-recruit" along the DL? Let's see:This is what happens when you under-recruit along the important LOS positions. You can have all the DB's in the world, but they can't effectively edge rush or stop the inside runs for short/no gains.

He complains just for the sake of complaining. He isn’t alone. There are others."Under-recruit" along the DL? Let's see:
DT:
1. Alonzo Ford
2. Owen Wafle
3. Zane Durant
4. Kaleb Artis
5. Ty Blanding
6. Xavier Gilliam
7. Liam Andrews
8. DeAndre Cook
9. Andy Adirika
DE:
1.Enai White
2. Z. Fisher
3. D Dennis-Sutton
4. Jordan Mayer
5. Mason Robinson
6. Mylachi Williams
7. Jalen Harvey
8. Max Granville
9. Chaz Coleman
10. Yvan Kemajou
11. Cortez Harris
12. [kid from West Va who declassified to 2025 ... can't remember his name]
That's 21 guys for 4 positions; yet you complain about the 17 DBs recruited for 4 positions. In fact, under a 4-2-5, perhaps you should complain about under-recruiting the secondary.
I think there could be 3-4 future impact players along with Granville (if he fully recovers) @ the DE position."Under-recruit" along the DL? Let's see:
