It has nothing to do with the TV deal and everything to do with the calendar. There is an "extra" week this year between The Saturday of Labor Day weekend and the Saturday after Thanksgiving. It happens every 7 years or so.

This year’s schedule sucks because the weather has been glorious and no game tomorrow and away next weekend. Only one home game in October. Next year’s home schedule out and out blows except for Nebraska and Oregon.

I actually do think we should change the calendar to have 12 months of 28 days and 1 of 29 (or 30 for leap year). 13 months a year could be lucky.
