Took the family to NYC for a few days after the new year to unwind a bit from a busy ballet season and was very excited to go to one of my favorite French import resetaurants, Relais de Venise (it's a steak frites place that always has a queue in Paris, but the line moves quickly). They've moved locations since the last time I was there (used to be on Lexington) and previously there was never a line to get in. Now, because of some TikTok videos promising unlimited fries, the line starts at 4:30 for 5:30 entrance. We waited an hour for a seat (and yes, it was worth it). Also think I saw Taylor Swift near The Plaza after we went there for tea....

Pop culture snap shots should never be less than a 2:30 single. That is the smallest particle of pop culture. Anything smaller is just doody flakes.

Ate there in Paris, it was good but didn't amaze me. Also don't think the fries were "unlimited" but they did give a second portion when dropping off the second portion of steak. But this was Paris portions, the sum of both was probably close to one typical American portion to start with, seems like more a gimmick than anything but it's working, the place was very popular and had a queue.

To each his own. And yes - it’s two servings of fries and steak. Locals eat there is Paris which sold us on trying it. Now it’s one of my favorite.

They, Tik Tokers, Social media have ruined the National Parks. That’s more than enough for me to hate them.
