Like every year I suppose we will have to wait for pitt to pick their bowl and then we will choose from the leftovers.

Tulane? I'd rather not go. This stinks of the time we played Memphis. Lets hope UM escapes until the off-season and both UM and tOSU play in the playoffs.
The committee will want Alabama over the loser of Michigan - tOSU. Who ever wins that game is in, the other is out (imho).

At this point I don't care where they go. Bowls aren't meaningful anyway. Both teams in those games generally have numerous opt outs. And beginning next year with 12 teams in the playoffs, Penn State will be playing in an even more nothing game. I guess we should be happy with that. We win, then we might get a pat on the head from OSU and Michigan telling little brother how proud they both are.

No they do not. Conferences are contractually obligated to the CFP and non-CFP bowls to send teams selected. Schools are obligated to their conferences. I suppose a school could refuse to go. I also suppose a conference could withhold revenue sahring.

I was referring individual players making the decision not to play. Has that been disallowed?

This might be the most disappointing bowl season, not just for PSU, but the sponsors and localities desiring travel revenues. Unless your team is in the CFP, I think a lot of fans are going to opt to stay home and save the $$$.

yeah...it is kind of a "tweener" year. The four playoff opponents are the only ones happy. The NYD6 think they should be there (or were one lucky bounce away). And next year it goes to 12. If it was 12 this year, we'd actually still have a shot. Anyone outside the 12 really doesn't have a claim to #1. Regardless, next year will be much better.

That’s a change, the past couple of weeks McMurphy has had us in the Citrus vs. OleMiss and out of the NY6.

New years six win will springboard us to the championship next year. At least I think I heard that last year .

From one guy anyway - thoughts?

The year end vibe around this team and staff is going to be a whole lot different than last year and not in a good way. There will be staff members moving on or at least interviewing for other (better) opportunities (Manny Diaz). There will be a lot of players quitting - oops, I’m sorry, I mean “opt out”.

It’s going to look like the Arkansas bowl game a couple of years ago.

Playoff or nothing mentality has ruined CFB. PSU lost 2 competitive games to 2 of the top 3 if not the top 2 teams in the country. If we had one receiver that caliber of the last several yrs we may have well won one of those games.

Next yr the Big10 isn't even really a conference anymore and the playoff has basically been the same 4 or 5 teams with a cpl outsiders that get ground into the dust anyway.

I was led to believe that the Penn State football team's season had concluded and that no more football contests would be conducted. Is that not true? Is there still football this year?

The folks writing the big checks only care about eyeballs on the TV, not butts in seats (which, IMO, is one of the big problems with college football right now)

Who is this guy? Tulane? Z😝🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The NY6 has to include a non-P5 champ.

Who is a more likely option than Tulane (who, if one recalls, played in a NY6 last year and BEAT USC)

Tulane, James Madison, and Liberty are the only currently ranked non-P5.
Tulane (at 9-1) does still play UTSA - who will be a tough challenge for them.
If you don't like Tulane - imagine playing James Madison in your NY6 game (they are next in line)
