Yet, somehow the Bama shills tried to convince everyone that their 24-3 buttwhoopin from the 6-7 Sooners was a good loss last year when making their case for a playoff spot.
Penn State controls their own destiny. Some team is gonna be the one winning the last game of the season and, hey, it could be ours.

Eh, I don't know, frankly I will take it. We control our own destiny as the other poster said. We get to play one of the only two teams ranked in front of us. We get the 7th ranked team at home at night, and the rest of the schedule is a little tricky, but if you are the real thing, you navigate through it ok.
Everything is on the table right in front of us, unlike every other season under Franklin, this year we do not have any weaknesses on position groups or on either side of the ball. We have the best defensive coach in the nation and one of the best 5 offensive coaches in the nation.
No Cam Miller's going to slip and fall school, no horrible offensive line in front of a great running back like 2017, and three proven receivers who, while perhaps are nothing amazing themselves, more than replace what we had last year in the aggregate.
No excuses this year gents. This is the year of the lion. This is it.

I would not want to go in number 1. Too much pressure. We’re better off with Texas and Manning dealing with the intense pressure of going in number 1 and maintaining that.

Those Tx/OSU rankings are about their game week 1. 1 vs. 2 on Aug. 30.
Manning had better be all that if they're going to hold that ranking at OSU, at Fla, at Ole Miss, and at Georgia this season.
OSU is breaking in a new QB. He'll get to start out at home...against the #1 team. Then they get to play us at home, then Michigan and Washington on the road. They have the easiest schedule of the top teams with some tests along the way. I think our game at the Shoe, as long as everyone is healthy, could be a real slobberknocker.

FC flourished when we had thread view. Damn, some of those comebacks were funny. (If you started a thread on an already-discussed topic and didn’t FC then you would be deluged by responses along the lines of “Our American Cousin opens at Ford’s Theater tonite.” I had my own favorite: “Western Oz woman gets wet, dies.”)
