FWIW, Shadow of a Doubt is Hitchcock’s personal favorite of his films. It’s surely his most underrated. Part of its issue is that Hitchcock made a ton of movies with big time stars, Bergman, Stewart, Grant, Kelly, and Shadow of a Doubt only has Joseph Cotten and Teresa Wright.
