Give it a rest Shirley! You should be working on the CMT Awards Who's the Hottest poll. Stick to your lane. ;)

You know the media this kid has gotten, Caitlin Clark is just a kid, has elevated women's bball, but you have all these angry old ladies dumping shiite on it. Same with all the angry UConn alumnae speaking out about the call at the end of the game. Something positive is happening to the sport that made you relevant and you are bashing it. Just ride the friggin' wave because in a month or so no one will care any more.

clark is done at iowa. Where does iowa go from here (besides to hell)? iowa is not a traditional power in women’s basketball. They caught lighting in a bottle in clark, a GENERATIONAL. TALENT. o_O in their backyard. Granted, they had talent around her, but no one close to her. Now what?

Exactly!!! Iowa will be forgotten about and women's bball for that matter(at least to the general population, will only matter to those that play it or go to Iowa)

Actually not that difficult... take away 1 point for each 3 and Caitlin has 3403 points (not positive I had the correct number of 3s) Lynette has 3649. There should be an * with the record.

Do you feel that without another womens superstar emerging, womens basketball will continue with this excitement and viewership?

I think they need a new face of the game each year for this to be sustaining. Maybe they can pursue that strategy?

Good approach. Then there's the size of the basketball which it tough to figure out.

Rules of the game have been changing since it started. Are you going to put an asterisk next to every record?

True the rules have changed, but the one about the three-point line is one that is at least worthy of a *. I think the*should be with the other ladies point total though claiming that it is prior to the three-point line.

In the end, it’s about the championships, not the individuals, anyway. If there’s no asterisk, it means nothing beyond you having to dig a little harder for the statistical data, big deal, let’s not have a cow about this.

It's a good question. 2023-24 was a sequel to last season, the continuing sagas of Clark, Angel Reese, and an undefeated South Carolina. The same elements were present last year, but they weren't underpinned by last year's championship game.

What happens going forward? I wouldn't be surprised to see the sport take a couple of steps back in terms of popularity. But the last two years have raised the floor so we'll see where it goes.

Well. removing a point for each three doesn’t account for the potential change in shot selection or playing time. If no three point line, maybe you take more high percentage shots and score more. Maybe you play more because you can’t build a lead. Dunno.

How do you add in that the competition is about 10X better than it was 43 years ago?

Well, Iowa still has women's volleyball and a chance to keep their not-going-to-a-bowl streak alive.

Or nutrition being ??x better now, better facilities, better travel conditions, better medical treatment. Better training facilities. Ball size relative to hoop size...

Lots of things change, but a made basket should be the same number of points if you are comparing total points.

Yes, all of those things have changed but made shots aren't being compared. How many points should a foul shot be worth? You should add up "all" the made shots and let us know who made more shots. Well, I don't need to know because I don't care, but someone might.

You should read Aesop's fable The Dog in the Manger.
