Not sure if Tom has a thread on this, but with a week in the books I've been dipping into the PSU football podcasts again and getting excited for the season (all due respect to the team at BWI, but they have way too many ads on their podcast for me to listen). Anyway, lots of exciting stuff going on - WR room looking better than last year, defense making a smart move and going base 4-2-5, National Championship D-Coordinator on board, Drew Allar returning, AK in Year 2, etc. Anything anyone is excited for/concerned about? Maybe something like...

Biggest concern for me is WR and DT. I am cautiously optimistic on the WR's especially with the one's we brought in via portal. Finally have a WR in Ross that can take the top off a defense. DT we are inexperienced and have question marks if players can step up. See if Ford can come back healthy, Durant can step up and maybe Wafle can become part of the rotation. Also excited to see Reynolds at TE, he is certainly sounding like a great follow up to Warren.

Player of Interest (Offense): WR Hudson -- somebody who might actually catch everything thrown at him
Player of Interest (Defense): DE Granville -- blue-chip players from Texas always garner my interest
Coach of Interest: Dan Conner -- want LBU to be back
Make or Break Game(s): temped to say "1-0" but just have to get the buckeye monkey of the back
Breakout Player: TE Reynolds (offense) DE Granville (defense) PR Saunders (ST)
Freshman of Impact (Offense): WR Outten or Howard -- one of them is going to step up
Freshman of Impact (Defense): DB Dixson -- good size and speed and supposedly superb instincts
Player You Hope Improves The Most: QB Allar ("obviously") but I want to see DE Sutton be a sack machine
CFP Bound?: Spring optimism says Yes; fall realism has its doubts

1. I'll add that I really don't want Singleton return kicks. I'd prefer one of the freshmen RBs like Smith or Hayes to do it.
2. The punter has to get better and more consistent IMO.
3. This might be the best, deepest coaching staff at Penn State since the late 60's.
