Or just give up.

Well, he’s probably available bc he never stayed anywhere too long.
Not sure where he is now but he coached at Wilson for 8 years and had a pretty good record (69-19). Although I don’t think any of Henne’s teams ever won anything other than a league title.

Curious if you know, s1uggo, how did that game end?
Good question but I don’t know. I’ll look it up and let you know I do/did know Jimo. Now that’s a story for another day
Thanks Step. That just confirms what many always thought during those years. PSU couldn’t pull in the top level QB recruits because of Jay. They were fortunate to get MRob.
If you believe it was because of Jay you don’t know Jimo. Jimo believes he’s the best QB coach in the country. He wanted a job. UM was going to hire him for some reason things didn’t get worked out pretty sure they wanted him to GA n then get a full time job Anyway Scott Loefler (sp) somehow sucked up to Jimo and Henne went there

Last I knew he was over in Lancaster but he got fired as he used his schools laptop to run his football camps on it. As it was his camp they consolidated it personal use. Sounded like some one wanted him gone and they found a reason. I think he runs a QB academy now. You pay him he’ll get your kid to be a stud QB.

I’m pretty sure he is on the Coatesville staff in some capacity.

That is an interesting bit of info. Thanks. I did not know Cantafio was shopping himself for a job. Regardless, there’s a quote in the article posted by step directly from Henne, “I just felt a lot more comfortable here with Scot Loeffler and him developing me as a quarterback than Jay Paterno.” Now, maybe he was coached to say that, but it is directly from Henne. Also, as much as it pains us as PSU fans, he made the right choice.

Well, we ended up with Anthony Morelli instead of Henne, who was as highly rated at the time. Morelli changed his commitment to PSU from Pitt after Henne announced for the weaselrines.
Henne's career was better, certainly, but in HS and coming into college, they were evenly rated.
Supposedly Morelli was a typical 'million dollar arm, buck-fiddy head'. He struggled with college level offense concepts from what I recall/was told.

Yes. And he was described as an “ acutely undercoached” prospect who wasn't prepared to be an NFL QB. Also, if you believe the scuttlebutt coming out of the Big 33 game that year, as both played for PA, Henne and Morelli really weren’t that close as prospects. I think, as you said, Morelli had all the physical tools.

know someone who was on staff back then and said basically Morelli threw the ball like a god in practice and would totally freeze up in live game. Could not process offense, was not that bright, less motivated, kind not a jerk but in real time just could not connect dots. Supposedly Jack Ham said he threw the ball like early Bradshaw in practice, with that much velocity.
