Went to Gatlinburg TN over the weekend with friends. Spent two days hiking in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Had a blast.

On the drive back yesterday afternoon the group was starving for lunch. The person driving pulled off the interstate in Rocky Top, TN. The plan was to eat at Coal Creek BBQ. They were closed. We wound up at Lil Vols Diner. I know! I didn’t want to go in, but was very hungry. There was orange everywhere, and framed pics of Vols football. It was hard to look at. It gets worse. Girlfriend ordered the Vols Burger, and I ate half of it. It hurts my heart to admit this, but it was really good. I enjoyed it. Now feeling very ashamed. Here to confess my sin, swear to never repeat it, and seeking absolution.

Like most Kentuckians, that exit is a good first stop on the way south. I’ll be damned that it was a lot easier to stomach when the place was called Lake City instead of Rocky Too.

6 Now it happened that on a Sabbath he went through the grain fields, and his disciples were picking and eating the heads of grain, rubbing them[a] in their[b] hands. 2 But some of the Pharisees said, “Why are you doing what is not permitted on the Sabbath? 3 And Jesus answered and[c] said to them, “Have you not read this, what David did when he and those who were with him were hungry— 4 how he entered into the house of God and took the bread of the presentation, which it is not permitted to eat (except the priests alone), and[d] ate it[e] and gave it[f] to those with him?” 5 And he said to them, “The Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.”

Take a knee five different times in front of different people and proclaim "Hail UK". Then also drink five blue koolaids at different times (The drink, not the lifestyle). (All within the next month and thou shalt be healed from being a complete Heel...) jmusao

Edit: This is VOLuntary...

I wouldn't let a sports rivalry get in the way of good eats. I dislike most Boston teams, and generally anyone who lives that way.. but I'm not gonna turn down a Lobster Roll or fresh Oysters..

You can't take this stuff too seriously. I was in Kansas City recently visiting family who ended up there and we went to a terrific BBQ place that had a KU theme. I enjoyed it.

I did go into the Men's room and write: "JAILHAWKS AND SELF ARE CHEATERS. NO ONE RESPECTS YOUR DIRTY PROGRAM."

But aside from that, I just behaved politely and lived in the moment.

Yeah but after eating their food I sure bet if you didn't kick a car you had to fight off the urge to kick a car!!!

Say 100 Hail Mary's and 100 lashes with a wet noodle (from your girlfriend) and then feel good bout the fact that for a short time, you added some class to that establishment simply because a UK fan was there.

3 years ago I accepted a job to be a manager at a new hotel. We had a meeting at the Cardinal Hall of Fame Cafe. I knew it was a bad idea right then.
