Even if they hold the Chiefs to 21 points in the playoffs they lose because the offense can't score worth a crap. The run game is nice put you have to pass to win games anymore.
Yeah, Kenny Heisman leading the Steelers to the SB would be one of the most unlikely accomplishments in NFL history. As you say, they have to get more than they are out of the passing game. He's 14-24 for 93 yards - just under 4 yards per attempt. That's abysmal. Make that 14-27.

Why do my teams suck at offense. Qb dear in head lights, receivers can’t get open and offensive coordinator throws 500 yards horizontal.
How many screens and runs with mid 3rd quarter can you run with 9 guys in the box.

diontae Johnson and Pickett not on same page but let’s throw it to him 3 times in a 14 second drive. Dear lord tomlin. What are you thinking with these guys .

Great defense. Couple good RBs. So-so receivers. And an offense that can't throw downfield ever, or get out of its own way half the time.

Sound familiar to anyone here?

It's really hard to miss on a first round QB pick. I don't know if it's time to move on from Pickett yet. His last year at Pitt, he was really good. But he was very average the 2 years before that. Probably somewhere in between those two places is his reality. But not worthy of a first round pick.

He had Addison as his receiver in the acc.
Now he plays in the toughest division.
Good thing is that burrow is hurt. Oh wait we played a backup qb today. Never mind

Last year‘s draft was very good. You have Jones and Porter and Benton all playing well. Still need more help on the OL but it is a good draft for QBs, maybe five or six in the first round, and probably a bunch of trades.

They should have fired that asshat at Halftime. This is a pathetic display of offensive football...again.
+1. Mike Y's offense is better than that crapfest and he got canned.

The Steelers would be wise to go all in on a Pickett replacement in the next draft. He’s a system guy at best. And that only works when all the surrounding talent is great. It’s so hard to do in today’s game, Teams need a QB that can elevate and carry a team for stretches. That’s not Pickett.

So who do we think will be available for them when they pick? They will probably pick middle of the draft? Maye? Pennix? Nix? Who am I missing? I’m not convinced any of those guys are going to be successful NFL QBs either? I hope I’m wrong, but it is such a gamble.

They move up in the draft for Devon Bush but take a QB that probably would have went 4th round. Smfh

I’ll restate my post. The Steelers would be wise to go all in on Pickett’s replacement next offseason.

I may get skewered, but I think Cousins could be very effective in Pittsburgh. He’s a win now solution who matches the Steelers roster. Maybe they draft OL or WR as a complement?

I thought the same thing a few years ago. I thought they would be wise to pursue him as Ben’s replacement. Unfortunately, it may be a little too late for that now. He’ll be coming off a major injury and isn’t all that young anymore. Also, I don’t think they need to draft skill position players. I think the ones they have are as good as any in the league, but are being misused by an inept OC, OL, and QB.

Pickett will never be any good, but now he'll get another year after they fire Canada in the offseason, because you can only have one fall guy per year. And they aren't going to admit quickly enough how awful of a draft pick Pickett was. The way he has to wind up to throw every simple pass. And how many balls he just sails on guys. He's awful. Yet somehow we're paying his backup millions to be even worse (while Josh Dobbs is significantly better than either of them...).

The thing is this elite defense is wasted for another year because of offensive ineptitude. McSorley would have won this game today if we're trying to out-colllege offensive teams. Smh

I don't "think" Kenny P is the answer at QB but with Matt Canada calling jet sweeps and WR screens all day who knows.
And how do you have a PRO NFL coach as an OC that can't make adjustments because they weren't prepared for what the defense was doing?
He's an epic failure but then I thought he was everywhere he's been but the 1 season in 2016 at Pitt.

Part of the issue there has to be that Canada (and Tomlin?) had decided that with Watson out the Steelers could just play a super conservative game on O and win. Close but no cigar. Ya gotta at least take a shot downfield here and there. Lack of confidence in Pickett too?

I really am shocked that the Steelers lost this one. This is exactly the kind of game they always win, unless they absolutely have to win it for seeding purposes.

I do take some responsibility. My "Haha" meme was in poor taste and the karma from that came back to bite yesterday, Sorry yinzers.

It's gonna really suck chewing on this one during a holiday week.
