Franklin might be a decent guy, but come on already! How many important winnable games are we going to lose? For a little less than $10 million per, I could coach this team to a 10-2 record!
Franklin would've lost to Maryland with that Nebraska team too. You seem to be missing the point.
He's not my hero. He was at one time a "candidate" but is also in his first year at Nebraska and putting together a very respectable recruiting class.
So is Lance Leipold......MSU is going to get a very good coach who will own Franklin
This is why you don’t give coaches a ten year contract until they actually win something.
Serious question. In Nov. 2022, Rhule signed an eight-year, $74-million contract. We know Franklin is locked in to a long term deal. What would the numbers be to get Rhule to PSU? I'm not crazy about Rhule, but wonder what PSU's spend would be to make it happen. Is it even plausible?

It's bound to happen. Heck, people even yelled at Joe when he was considered by many to be the best coach in college football. I witnessed it at the 1981 game against Alabama at the Beav. I'll never forget it. It was a handful of drunk undergrads, Everyone near the field could hear them.

Franklin is an individual who doesn't cope well with criticism. The arrows of deserved criticism are coming from many directions.

Sandy Barbour and the 2021 PSU BOT "locked down" CJF as the PSU coach for the foreseeable future. (Well, actually they didn't. Any other school could/can write a bigger check and hire CJF away from PSU - but I think it is clear that isn't going to be an option in the near future). So it is what it is. PSU fans are left with the option of wondering how it can get fixed (or "less broken")
And before anyone wonders "Well, who should PSU hire - who would do better?"
That is not the issue. The issues are:
1) That can't happen, because they "bail and chain'ed" PSU/CJF together
2) I think it has moved far past the question of "Who would, for sure, do better?" to ""Aren't their 50 coaches who couldn't, in all likelihood, not do worse with the resources given by PSU?" (I think the answer to that question is obvious, obviously), who might do better..... if the job were to become open.

I'm with you on the Franklin excuses as always but what happens to Aubrey when the next coach pulls a Saban and tells her to STFU?
Need to make Franklin want to leave on his own, even if it is for less money or inferior program.
You do know that your guy lost to Rhule when Rhule was coaching Temple talent? Given your brilliant reasoning that means Rhule is better than him. Thanks for the insight.
I mean, the next coach won’t have six NCs to point to. So maybe make an enemy of someone who writes for arguably the most reputable sports media outlet in America? Not smart.
The folks who actually, willingly, spent money to stand in those cinder block tunnel huts should - first of all - boo themselves
That said, the way things are going they (PSU) may soon have to just create a solid brick-lined tunnel to allow CJF to leave the field, without facing the critics, after each glorious "near-win".
I'm thinking about visiting the "old board" and searching for posts abusing me for calling out Franklin shortly after he was hired. As is usual, I am being proven correct with the passage of time on my initial assessment despite the abuse I have taken in the course.
