It's win or go home time for the 'Cats who will be without Vic Law tonight. This was certainly a winnable game before Law was ruled out, but less so now that the senior won't be participating. It'll take a big effort for NU to win the in-state rubber match, but if this is it for Northwestern, thanks for indulging me on the site throughout this basketball season. Let's finish it positively.

Weird, frantic start to the game. Two very makeable shots by Pardon, two very makeable jumpers from Taylor, just didn't go down. Story of the season.

Northwestern's offense can't run through A.J. Turner and Ryan Taylor, it just can't. NU is 2-8 from the field thus far, while Bezhanishvili has all six of UIUC's points.
He might not be *the* answer at PG at this point, but he's showing some nice stuff tonight. Sure would be nice if he could knock down one of two open 3s.
But that's the story of this team... Gaines misses an open 3. Falzon misses an open 3. Just need to MAKE SHOTS. What else can you say?

I have never seen someone less competent on the floor than him. If he is going to play significant minutes next year... this team is in big trouble.

I saw that. Falzon ran into him unintentionally, and Underwood grabbed him. It could have been one of the Illini players who shoved him. It didn't look good.
