I thought I'd start a game thread...even though we already have the post-game thread on the board. Unfortunately, I'm not courtside in Florida for this one.

NU and Bradley have two common opponents. Bradley beat Norfolk State by 12, while NU beat them by 11; and they beat Radford by nine, while NU lost by 11. Their lone loss is to St. Joe's, by 5, on the road.

The Braves have FIVE guys who average in double figures, led by Darrell Brown, a 5-10 point guard who leads them with 13.8 points and just under 7 assists per game.

If NU wins, they will play Pitt, which just beat K-State, 63-59.

Slow start for the Cats. Bradley looking confident early on.

How about that sky hook by Nance (with apologies to Kareem). NU has scored nine straight points. Relish this, guys. Not sure how many more of those we'll see this year.

Spencer has such a natural ability to create off the dribble. Doesn’t have anywhere near elite quickness, but just knows how to make things happen and find guys in a way that puts them in a position to score. Fun to watch.

Cats playing well so far. Playing with energy and shots are falling.

Spencer having a strong game so far, with 6 points, a rebound and an assist. He seems to be in charge out there when he's on the floor.

Cats up 18-11 as I type this. I think I'm turning off the TV now because it may not get better than it is now and I'd like to keep this happy feeling for a while.

NU looks like a lot better team when the shots are falling, huh?

They're also dominating the boards with a 12-5 edge.

I love the way we’re playing right now. Haven’t seen this in a while. When the shots fall, it makes a huge difference.

We have some good athletes this year. This is the first game I've managed to catch so far and there is def some raw talent.

Jones a little clumsy out there, not sure why he tried that 3. Keep it going Cats.

Our length at forward will bother some teams on defense. We need to keep Young involved on offense and find ways for Beran and Jones to be effective.

Of course they look better when the shots fall, but they also look better when they play with a lot of energy. They're showing a lot of it on both sides of the ball tonight.

Did I miss something? Based on threads I read from previous games this looks like a different team... just hitting more shots or what?

32-18 at media timeout, 3:35 left in the first half. Very fun game to watch so far.

NU has had 9-0 and 11-0 runs in the first half.

How about that?!

Can’t believe I’m typing this, but it’s all starting on the defensive end in this first half. Making nothing easy for Bradley. Crashing the boards. Getting out on the break. Energy level is noticeably different.
