It's going to be a sparse crowd, as expected, tonight. We're less than 10 minutes to tip and there might 1,500-2,000 people here right now.

I know next to nothing about Merrimack. I'm just hoping the Cats take care of business.

Spencer Gaines Loop Nance Young are the starters

Interesting starting five: No "true" point guard, no Turner. Though I suspect Collins will use these early games to experiment with A LOT of lineups.

How is it that both of our major sports programs have regressed so far? This performance is pathetic.

Are we playing Merrimack or Michigan? Because I remember the days we used to play tight, back and forth games with teams like Michigan. This is ridiculous.

Player coaching opportunities at halftime. Young and Jones need to learn how to go straight up. Spencer Taylor and gaines need to show some leadership. Cats pull away in the second half.

Had us going 0-20 in conference this year. Scared that might have been optimistic.

We'll get better, right??? Right??

Hey, Merrimack made the Division II NCAA Tournament the last three seasons! In all seriousness, that is good experience for them and I'm sure the team has good chemistry. We know the 'Cats are in full rebuild mode this season and Merrimack is dangerous as the more experienced team.

After this lousy football season, I don't know if I can take an ugly basketball season too. NU needs to either relax its ridiculous admissions so we can get some actual Power5 level athletes or just accept these declining performances and empty stands.

Oh come on, TheC, the lows just make you appreciate the highs that much more!

I cannot argue any of this, which is the most embarrassing thing I have ever read about a Power 5 basketball program.
