I’m not feeling very good about this one.

NU, losers of eighth straight and 13 of 14, are on the road to take on Penn State, the hottest team in the league that has won seven in a row.

Even without leading scorer Myreon Jones, who scores 14.1 ppg and is not expected to play, this could be a tough day for the guys in Purple.

Last time I thought no way we would win we gave the game away in Piscataway. Let’s go Cats.

Another hot start for NU. They've hit 5 of their first 9 shots.

Given their last few games, is that a good thing or a bad thing?

What’s not so good is our defense. Lots of open threes conceded. It’s not like they made tough shots. They got lots of open shots. And now we’re in zone

We are better on defense with a staying away from fouls Nance on the floor.

I think NU went into the game with the plan to defend the paint against Stevens and Watkins. As a result, they're gonna give up some open looks. Seventeen of PSU's first 25 shots were 3s -- I think NU would take that. But PSU is also getting a lot of offensive boards: they have eight so far and are up 7-0 in second-chance points.

On the bright side, Pete Nance is looking better today than he has in a while. He's 3-for-3 for 6 points and has one rebound in just seven minutes.

Yeah. They hit 18 threes at Purdue. We are on pace to allow 90 for the game. No way we get hot enough to win a game like that.

I do feel we have nothing to worry about inside if Nance is behind Young. So much talk about Pete and here I am defending having him on the floor.

They could score 90 on Penn State.

In two games.

Your stat about the 3’s is enlightening. They shot 21 and hit 7 by the end of the half. But the fact is that those were almost entirely open looks.
