Here's the quick preview I included in my three pointers for the win over Maryland:

Looking ahead: Northwestern stunned Wisconsin in Madison, 66-59, on Jan. 12 in the teams’ only meeting this season. That was looked upon as perhaps the biggest win in Northwestern history – until the Michigan game on March 1, that is. McIntosh carried the Wildcats with 25 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists in that one, while the defense did a tremendous job doubling Ethan Happ, limiting him to 3-of-8 shooting and 9 points, and forcing him into 4 turnovers. However, Wisconsin’s Bronson Koenig was hobbled in that game and scored just 2 points; he is fully healthy now. Wisconsin, which lost three of four to close the regular season, beat Indiana 70-60 on Friday as five Badgers scored in double figures and Happ racked up 14 points and 12 rebounds.

But the bottom line is this: NU IS ONE GAME AWAY FROM PLAYING FOR THE BIG TEN TOURNAMENT TITLE!

Stop and read that again. What a ride this season has been, huh? And they're not done yet.

Is NU a little tired after the late game last night? The Cats miss their first 7 shots and trail 10-2 at 14:26.

that' been one of my reasons for not liking these tournaments. the need to play 4 games in 4 days is just plain dumb.

Agree. If the NCAA cared about student athletes even a bit, they would require a one day rest between games at a minimum. But TV schedules wouldn't allow for that, ya know? And that means less $$$$ for the NCAA.

Looking really tired and off this far. That's ok, though. This game is kind of gravy to me.

Terrible rebounding by NU at both ends of the floor. Down 12.

Wisky getting all of the bounces right know. Patience.

I hate ugly basketball. And rock dumb mental errors and 2nd chance Badger scores. And everything else about this first half. Patience? What are we waiting for? How much easier could we make it for Wisky? I don't even recognize the team in purple.

They look really tired, which is no surprise. Serious disadvantage playing a second game last night l 10 and then starting a third game early afternoon today. I just hope they stay healthy through the game.

Exactly. How can one have patience for comatose play? We can't even stay up off the floor!

Our rebounding has been terrible. They seem like they're a half second behind.

Reading this thread and checking the score, I'm glad I shut off the TV when it was 5-0.

The kids had about 15 hours between games. They are gassed. Shots are not falling and they're not getting the defensive boards. That's a recipe for a 15 point halftime deficit against a top tier team.

The chance to win a BTT would've been great but unless this game was going definitely get us a better seed then I would take the extra day of rest and preparation.

That last play was indicative of how tired they are. Law and Pardon both stood there and didn't rebound.

We are good but not elite yet. We look great when we can expend maximum effort, but we are not good enough to beat the big boys when we can't go all out. Oh well... it was a fun run in DC. It won't be so terrible to go home and enjoy Selection Sunday with their fellow students.

Short bench exacerbates the gassed problem. Plus we can't get any decent 3 looks and at the same time, everything in the middle is clogged. So we're stuck in a midrange floater game for our entire offense. That's a recipe for a 40 point game. We have to get 3 looks and we have to get drives to the basket. That's where the shooting percentage comes from.
