What is the anticipated turnover of the Duke team roster for next year? I know that UK will be losing
Willis, Hawkins, Fox, Monk and Adebyo for sure. May lose more due to being recruited over by new incoming class.

Tatum has declared for the draft with Jefferson and Jones being seniors. Who else is leaving the team. I think Giles needs to take the money and run before he is beset with another injury. Allen is a great shooter, but given all that has occurred this season, will he stay or go?

Coach K and Coach Cal do not play the games. It's the Jimmies and the Joes that play, so rosters are important.

We are very hopeful on Bamba and think we have an outside chance with Knox. Those guys would really set our new class of freshmen.

What is the Duke perspective?

Wonder daily if anyone here knows of prospects the staff is in on besides Duval, Knox and Bamba?
If the NBA stuff goes South they could really be scrambling. ??

To sum it up and too keep your off butt our board the best and most accurate info you can get is go to tar heel radar and post a thread for gary-7. He will tell you all you need to know not only about Duke basketball but about unc, UK or any other major basketball power. He is the top basketball guru around today. No need to reply. You are welcome. OFC

We have about 25 threads where the info you're requesting is being discussed ad nauseaum. The easiest answer I can give you, and this isn't intended to make me sound like an ***, but come back in a month and all those questions are likely answered. Truthfully, none of us know how everything will go down the next 30 days.

I personally dont like the large turnover each year...i think it is takes away from building a true team mentality but it seems to be the way Top programs are doing. Hard to tell who leaves but recruiting over players is the norm the past few seasons which is a bad message to current roster players and future recruits unless you consider yourself a one and done type talent. Building a one season team year after year isnt a sustainable process imo. I'd be interested in your thoughts on the KY way...every year is a new roster pretty much...has that been worth it in your eyes?

Heard that we landed Jahlil Okafor, Justice Winslow, Tyus Jones, Jabari Parker, Kyrie Irving, Grant Hill, Bobby Hurley, Christian Laettner, and a slew of others for next year. Watch out pal.

Yeah I heard if they transfer before their senior year in NBA, they can go back to their college one more year, right? XD

I do not like the mass turnover every year as it leads to much uncertainty. UK is anticipating 8 players leaving this year, so the next team will be totally new with no juniors or seniors. I do not think a team can win without quality upper classmen. When UK won the NC in 2012, we has a starting senior(Darius Miller) that really helped stabilize the team along with some experienced sophomores(Doron Lamb and Terrance Jones). Anthony Davis was not the savior until he got about 3 months experience. He was always better defensively than he was offensively. Not every 5 Star recruit is great. UK fans always support the team, but are also wary about how good they are until proven results are witnessed. This year was an example of that thought. We lost to UCLA and Kansas at home, lost to Tennessee/Louisville/Florida on the road. I thought they could lose in Round of 32 in the tournament unless they could improve the defense. Lost to UNC in Elite 8 because of freshman experience coupled with lack of really good upper classmen. We have ridden an emotional roller ouster this year the last second shot sucked the wind out of everybody I know. The venom toward Higgins (ref) istremendous at this time. We win 87% of our games when he is not riffing our game and 35% when he does. We are 1-4 in NCAA games when he refs. Young teams cannot overcome the bad calls as a rule

I do not like OAD, but it is here to stay until the NBA Players' Asociation allows the age limit to change. My personal preference is to let them go straight out of high school with a '2 and through' if they enter college

I agree, either the NBA needs to change the minimum age to 20 or let players go straight out of high school but if a player decides to go to college then he should be required to stay for at least 2 years maybe even 3 years. That way they can still leave college early but they can also get a lot done toward their degrees, so that they won't have too much work left to finish their degree at some point after they go to the NBA.

I hope you got the proper permission from Gary before tossing his name around like that. He keeps most of his "real" insider info close to the vest. He just teases the THR crowd.

NBA Executives got burned from some of the High School Kids that were drafted in the lottery in the Early 2000's. Kids like Kwame Brown, Jonathan Bender, Darius Miles, and Eddy Curry obviously didn't merit consideration for a top-5 pick. OAD rule allows management enough time to evaluate top prospects against top-level competition while they're still young and developing teenagers. Kwame Brown pulling in 30 pts and 20 rebounds against 6'4 17-year old kids does very little to gauge how he can perform on the highest level. This rule is a great way for management to hedge a little bit - and not take crazy, stupid risky picks on 18 year-old kids that have never faced an imposing defensive team.

Kids should be allowed to go straight to the league. But NBA Executives won't allow it to happen anytime soon.
