Saw Tenet at the theaters this weekend they showed the preview— looks pretty damn good altho trailers can be tricky. Tons of great actors in it tho. I will watch for sure.

Dune's one of my favorite novels. I haven't looked forward to a movie this much since The Fellowship of the Ring.

Same here.

While there have definitely been some movies that I really looked forward to over the past few years, I’ve periodically checked for news on the production ever since Dune was announced. Last time I did that was when they were making the Lord of the Rings.

How was Tenet?

I liked it. Typical Chris Nolan movie. Fairly complex plot had trouble keeping up at times. Not as good as Inception or some of his other movies. Worth watching tho IMO. I was just happy to get back to the theater they opened a few weeks ago down in Florida.

Been about 35 years since I read that book. Loved Dune, but could not get into any others in that series. I re-read Lord of the Rings before the first movie came out and loved it as much as my first read when I was in the 5th grade. Don’t know if Dune would be as good today.

Dune is one of the best Sci-fi books ever written. Extremely complex, and rich. You will either love Dune or hate it. The movies have been gross disappointments compared to the books, but maybe someday, they will get it right.

There is supposed to be making Foundation too. Written by Asimov, I would have preferred "Caves of Steel" Especially after "I, Robot" was so close. Space epics need multiple movies, ie) the original Star Wars trilogy. After the redemption of Darth Vader, the following movies were worthless money grabs.

My most awaited Sci-Fi movie would be Ringworld. Makes Avatar look like a joke. Light a candle to represent the sun. Then take a ribbon 1" wide, and make a loop around the candle. The loop is 20' across. Now scale it up to earth orbit. This is the ringworld. Landmass of a trillion earths. Seas big enough to hold 1:1 maps of planets. Mountains 1,000 miles high to hold in the atmosphere. You gotta think BIG!!!!

Dune was a great book to me. Looking forward to The Stand too. Another series I would like to see is the Amber series by Roger Zelazney.
