Florida adds Graduate Transfer QB from Purdue

Appleby will reportedly begin classes at UF on Tuesday, giving the Gators five quarterbacks for the spring. The 6-foot-5, 239-pounder will compete with Treon Harris, Luke Del Rio and incoming early enrollees Feleipe Franks and Kyle Trask for the starting job.

Trouble in paradise when it comes to the QB position in Gainesville. It'll get better, but I'm not sold that it'll get better immediately by adding this kid.

I would imagine those freshmen are planning to RS...so it's really a 3 way race...

Treon, Del Rio, and New guy from Purdue...

Treon hasn't set the world on fire and has had ample opportunity to...also not a very big kid...good athlete...perhaps his talents could and should be used in other ways...

Don't know a lot about Del Rio...transferred in from Bama where playing time was going to be hard to come by...slightly bigger than Treon...but not a big guy...no experience...

New guy...Transfers with only 1 year left usually only sign with assurances that they will play...big physical specimen...looks to be a strong dude...apparently McElwain likes bigger QBs...he has P5 experience...older, mature...

I have no idea...but I'm thinking this new guy was brought in with the hopes and expectations that he could turn into something under McElwain...

And Trevor Knight is headed to A&M.

It's like they traded Kyler Murray for him. A&M wins that deal.

Knight collapsed at OU and Mayfield left him in the dust. The offense at A&M is much like Riley runs at OU. Not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing.
