Food Allergy

Any body have issues with food allergies? When I was 28 I all of a sudden developed a food allergy for bananas and avocados. It went away in a few years and everything was fine. Now, apparently I'm having issues with anything with wheat in it. Looks like I might turn into one of those gluten free a-holes. [laughing]

Anybody else have issues with this? Did yours go away? I don't think I want to live in a world where I can't have pizza and beer.

You likely have a leaky gut/intestinal permeability. Eliminate all grains, legumes, dairy, and vegetable oils. Try that for 30-60 days and add back in one thing at a time to see how it makes you feel.

If I have a large serving on dairy (glass of milk or a bowl of ice cream) it flares up my allergies and I have to clear my throat about every 30 seconds.

Being forced into a gluten-free lifestyle because of legitimate health reasons doesn't make you an *******. It's the people that not only DON'T need to do it, but regurgitate what Dr. Oz or someone said, and make everyone else suffer along with them that are the ********.

I've tried lots of gluten stuff due to a few coworkers who can't eat gluten. Might take some awful trial and error periods, but I've had very good gluten free pizza and beer.

I eat so much buffalo sauced and spicy flavored food that it just doesn't matter anymore. Put myself through the ringer on a weekly basis.

My son is allergic to gluten, milk, corn, soy and food dyes. Love his heart it makes it hard for him.

Yeah, that would be tough on a kid. I'm going to see my doctor about it soon. I was out of town so this is currently a self diagnosis, but I had mild to moderate intestinal pain for a couple of weeks that went away within 24 hours of my last piece of bread. And over the two weeks the worst periods were right after I had bread.

Like I said above, if I'm gluten free it could be the best thing that could happen to my waste line. No beer, pizza, sandwiches, bread or (most) desserts? I'm not (that) overweight or anything now, but this could make me chiseled! [laughing]

It's probably a mess down there. Thank God it's not something I can ever look at. But if I ever hook up with a real freaky chick.. bless her soul.

Whoa, I keep it clean. It's just that it's.. and I'm guessing at this point.. mangled. Just years of trying to collectively wipe habanero pepper sauce off that thing while holding back tears. I'm a sucker for hot foods, I guess.

We're getting off topic here. If someone wants to start a "Line's ******* troubles" thread 'd be glad to bestow some good life lessons on that subject.

But. Gluten foods. Let's keep it going.

WayneDougan if you live in Lexington I hear they have some great GF places to eat. More and more restaurants have GF menus now. We live out in the country so once or twice a month I make a stupidly expensive trip to Whole Foods

Thanks 3Fan - I'll look into that. Cooking at home won't be too bad. But going out will be rough. Hard to sometimes tell what contains gluten and what doesn't.

Don't know why but 2 percent or lower milk I can't drink makes my throat swell and I have trouble breathing. Whole milk and other milk products I have no problem with them.

I don't think I'm full lack toast and tolerant, but I still try and steer clear of most dairy except for cheese and the occasional ice cream cone.

Plus, my tastes have adjusted to soy/almond/coconut to where it's just as good to me (I don't drink actual glasses of milk)
