I am interested to know what everyone’s thoughts are 60 days out from the beginning of the season.

Personally I’m thinking it’s going to be delayed with this new outbreak. That wasn’t an option btw.

And if this outbreak lingers on I do think it will get canceled

Wasn't that option four? Shortened season, limited fans? Which was my vote.

If the government and the public can’t get this straightened out in 60 days, we are in for a long haul with this covid crap.

The dumbest thing ever would be to shorten or delay. Covid is going to be around for a while. Either you play or cancel til 2021 or later is only options that make any sense.I see no reason why all sports can’t play with normal crowds. The NCAA can make mask mandatory to be in stadium and all the people at risk to stay away. We are in the good ole USA where we should be able to decide for ourselves if it’s worth the risk.

I desperately want to see the Cats shock the world this year, as I think they can, but I am taking the attitude of let's believe there will be football when we see it. It just seems like nothing is going to go as it should until there is a vaccine.

I know for me personally, college football
Is my favorite sport. I really need it. Sure, I won’t die if it’s cancelled but it is big for my happiness. I watch every game I can not just UK.

I have a close connection to Ohio St. staff and they are preparing to only play conference games.

Starts on time. Ends prematurely. Limited fan attendance.

That's the most likely scenario at this point IMO. They put a lot of thought and planning towards getting football going but by mid season or before, things start to become so unraveled that they decide there is no other choice but to cancel the balance of the season.
Hope I'm wrong.

I don’t think there were enough options in the poll to capture everyone’s true feelings on the season. I think the best chance football has of having a complete season is playing with no fans. Like JD said, season starts on time with limited fans and gets cut short.

I'll go with starts on time with very limited fans who will be required to wear PPE. Where it goes after that is anybody's guess.

Probably cancelled altogether unfortunately.
I'm not even sure they'll be able to finish the NBA playoffs.

Yep, that's why I voted canceled. I have no faith in what you suggested actually happening.

I went into Publix yesterday to pick up a couple of things. Mask usage was high. Id guess around 80%. When I went to check out, there was a woman in one of the lanes who looked like a caricature of the worst trailer trash (my sincere apologies to anyone who lives in a trailer, and yes, I lived in one once) queen you could imagine. She was standing there with probably $300 dollars worth of groceries in a shopping cart that was piled up like she had been a contestant on Supermarket Sweep. She didn't have a mask on and she was munching on her fingernails like they were chikin wings. You just strolled through Publix picking up that much stuff and stacking it into your cart in the middle of a pandemic in the nation's biggest hot spot state, and you're waiting in line and think it's a good idea to be chewing on your nasty *** fingers like you haven't eaten in days. Crap like this is why we have a hard time stopping the spread. There's a sizable chunk of the American public that is selfish/lazy/arrogantly stupid/stubborn and just flat out doesn't want to be inconvenienced in the slightest way.

I hate saying it but I think it will be cancelled. I don't think it will be because of UK or Covid in Kentucky , but other states numbers are really starting to blow up. Florida had a higher total in one day on Saturday than NY ever had.

No doubt Florida has a lot of cases lately. The current seven day rolling death average is 44.

At peak, New York had 956 deaths per day over a seven day period.

The American seven day rolling death average now is roughly 20% of what it was in mid-April. I realize that deaths lag cases, but the number of cases in late March, which translated into about 2500 deaths a day in mid April across America, is comparable to the number in mid June which is translating to just over 500 deaths a day across America.

With that said, as soon as one player gets seriously ill, there will be tremendous push to stop everything. The vast majority of players who test positive will be perfectly fine, but maybe not everyone.

If the death toll starts to ramp up in Florida and other current hot spots as projected, which could ultimately include several SEC states, it’s hard to imagine football goes on. Unfortunate but games we love will get set aside in if that’s all born out.

I hope schools will have the autonomy to make decisions based on the situation at their school and in their state. Kentucky is one of only a few states in the country that’s remaining stable. If the conference or the NCAA makes a decision for every school then I don’t have a lot of hope for the season.

How exactly are they going to prepare for only conference games ? I would think you prepare for everything starting as scheduled because if you don't and it does, you will be at a disadvantage right ?

**** ain’t ending til November. Deaths/hospitalizations down compared to the overall testing; however, this country has become scared of its own shadow.

I expect them to postpone til January and they’ll put the kids at a ton more risk for serious injury by playing a full year straight of football than covid ever would have caused.

Of course, protesting of Trump’s potential reelection and the subsequent result of the elections won’t spread covid...just folks wanting to go watch a football game.

If the guy's are allowed to practice for the season, may as well plan for the entire season.. I have no earthly idea what will transpire, I am hoping and praying for a full season and not just because I love UKFB.. I want to see this country get back into it's as close to normal as possible.. Who knows how it will play out, it's anybody's guess to be honest..

Give it 2-3 more weeks when the new cases turn into ICU patients and deaths.

We should have been seeing a lot of it from a case increase in mid to late June and we're not- in fact, the opposite. But we will see how things look in two more weeks. Again.

Why do you think that 30,000 cases a day or so in late March ended up becoming 2500 deaths a day two to three weeks later, while a similar number of cases per day in mid June are translating to 500 deaths a day?

We’ve had 4 months. And it’s worse now than in March/April.

Give it 2-3 more weeks when the new cases turn into ICU patients and deaths.

That's right I saw it on the news......or somebody told me they saw it......or something. Anyway, they say it's bad. They said it's that one guy's fault [eyeroll][eyeroll][eyeroll]. Maybe we should protest some more

Why would protesting of Trump's election be a problem, aren't we a democracy, shouldn't the majority decide who is President?

Been watching "Apocalypse: WWl" all day, war is hell, no winners.
