I have had the occasion to discuss B1G football with a few OSU grads in recent years, and I am surprised at how little they know about other B1G teams. They know OSU football like a preacher knows the Bible, but I am not sure half of them could name Michigan's starting QB. They know Pat Fitzgerald, but that's about it. I am just surprised how uninformed these fans seem to be about other B1G teams, given how rabid they are about OSU. SMH.

I'm guessing they don't really see the rest of the BIG as the main focus. We are just that annual annoyance they have to get past before they play the big boys.

This is true about most fanbases. They know their teams and little else. Most other Big Ten fans think Northwestern had "one good year in the 90s," presumably 1995.

Last year, I watched Penn State at Maryland because my friend's daughter is in the PSU marching band. Most PSU fans didn't believe me when I told them we'd beaten them as recently as 2015, nor did they realize we'd been to Indy twice. They had to Google both! And these are band parents who go to every home game.

Why do you think we're still every other Big Ten school's Homecoming team of choice? Because other fanbases don't know sh--. Personally, I'm tired of the "little team that could" perception and I want the Cats to hang 60 on every opponent!

From my experience with high school football, the band parents sit there and stare blankly at their cellphones while the first half is played, then watch their little darlings march around for ten minutes, playing 3-4 songs, then leave the stadium as fast as they can.

I guess I'm saying they are not going to know much, if anything, about the other teams.

I don't know who Michigan's QB is, 'cause Harbaugh keeps changing them. JJ maybe?

Don't you mean OSU is just that annual annoyance NU cannot get past to play the big boys?

I was on the ND Board not long ago when the question came up ... "What other teams do you root for?"

NU was mentioned several times. Always with that all too common zinger along the lines of how "pesky" we can be at times. UGH!

You will - just like the rest of the CF world after Jim and Michigan Rolls through the Playoffs and wins the NC. The Big Blue probably have the deepest roster in the country. Jim's recruiting will start paying off

At this point in the season, the only player I know on OSU is Stroud. That’ll likely change when I watch a game.

I was hoping you were going to share an OSU fan saying something like, ā€œ3rd and 25, the best move is to puntā€ or ā€œwhen did they start having overtime in college?ā€.

They just don’t know football players, which is normal.

I mean, I get the angst we might feel at that, but I'll take it as a compliment. There are worse things your team could be called.

You mean there’s a football game before and after the band concert?!?! šŸ˜„

Welcome to the NU Board, where we love to tease you all for your delightfully entertaining arrogance. Hint: If you are that good, humility is a virtue. Guh Bluh!

Last OSU game I attended was in 2016 when the played Rutgers, when my uncle dotted the I in script Ohio at halftime. Those kids only know their team, and the hell with the rest. They even ignored Michigan. A totally self absorbed student fan base. You can talk football with the older crowd though. I so badly want the Cats to take OSU down!!!!! That would make my decade!!!! OSU has ruined BIG football.
