ESPN's telecast of No. 4 Duke's 92-90 overtime victory against No. 15 North Carolina on Wednesday, Feb. 18, averaged 4,136,000 viewers and a 2.6 US rating, making it the most-viewed and highest-rated college basketball game of the season across all cable and broadcast networks. It also ranks as ESPN's fourth most-viewed Duke vs. North Carolina telecast ever and the network's 11th most-viewed men's college basketball game all-time.
In addition to a significant television audience, the ACC matchup generated 10,100,000 minutes of live viewing and 246,000 unique viewers on WatchESPN, making it the platform's top men's college basketball game ever.

used to be able to rate these threads with stars... what happened? anyway, this is 5 star thread. quality shows, and UNC v. Duke is quality collegiate basketball - the very highest.

It's not really a shock. Everyone and their brother and sister knows Duke-UNC is the premier rivalry in college sports.

I live right in between Louisville and Lexington KY and had a friend the other day (a uk fan ) say that UofL vs UK is a way bigger rivalry than DUKE vs unc... And he was completely serious. After shaking my head i informed him of several key points proving otherwise including the above link about this years first game as well as a couple other points including the fact that DUKE and unc have played more times with both ranked in the top 25 than uk and uofl have played total (its almost twice as much actually) . Seriously it gets worse and worse here in the bluegrass state because of the uk fans obviously but over the past four to five years cardinals fans have really revved up their hatred for our program. Btw ive yet to hear a reply from my buddy, not sure if it has to do with what i mentioned above or the fact that i asked him how is ur alls rivalry "bigger, better, etc" than ours when ive seen and spoken with numerous uk fans who openly told me that they hoped UofL dusted us up when we played last month...

I was in Miami last week for work. A guy that had no idea I was a Dukie asked me Wednesday if was gonna watch the big game that night. I said yea maybe.....haha. He was talking about it being the best rivalry in all of sports. That from a Canes fan.

That's a man that has his priorities straight. Lives in Miami during the winter, and he watches the Duke/UNC game.

I live in Miami year round and watch every Duke game! Haha! There is nothing like our rivalry. Throw in State and we have more championchips in the triangle, amongst multiple teams in the world! Phd's too! God I miss my hometown!

Now don't go around confusing those highly intelligent UK fans with facts. They will not stand for it!! LOL...Morons!
