(Buffalo Springfield, c.1967)
---I figured out why I could on my Win11 PC login, see the free discussion forums, but then be told it was premium content.
I could access the forums with no "Premium Content" notice on my Android phone and Android tablet. That told me it was a Windows OS issue, which it wasn't.
I went through the entire Win11 settings and found no reason for nonaccess on the PC.
Then I examined my Edge browser settings, and found no reason I couldn't access the forums on the PC. Using the Firefox and Google browsers did not help.
In the back of what's left of my mind I was wondering if my Avast antivirus was the issue.
Again, I went through all settings and found nothing that should have blocked access to the "free" forums. Finally, I resorted to the good old Trial And Error method from my 17 years in IT. The problem was my Avast AntiTrack program was the culprit. I turned AntiTrack off and the problem dissolved into the ether. I AM accessing the free forums without issue, as advertised.
I do plan to examine the Avast AntiTrack (a fine product) settings granularly to see if I can permit On3 specifically, without turning AntiTrack off.
