There are a few sources of motivation West Virginia plans to draw from heading into the Big 12 tournament. The first is

Win tournament or lose in the Final = 2 seed
Lose in semis = 3 seed
Lose to Texas Tech = 3 seed
Lose to TCU = 4 seed
