Nick Mantis passed away over the weekend. Unsure how many on this board were around NU when he played, but my dad often spoke of him as a great one there.

Mantis definitely was a solid Big-10 player. I didn't know him but others who did said he was an equally fine person.

I'm of an age to scour obituaries, looking to see who's listed. So far my name hasn't been, so that's good. But it's discouraging to see names of how many people I've known or at least known of.

He was a tough PG on that very good Bill Rohr team that took a Wilt Chamberlain , Kansas team down to the wire before 10,000 plus at McGaw Hall.
