One of first news reports I remember. It snowed ( flurried) in KY that week.
The thing about the Edmund Fitzgerald that was surprising to me was that it was over 700 feet long. I would assume the crew would have been larger. it was a big ship. Taken out by a Derecho in November.

I read a book about it one time, one of the victims family says they were watching the Ohio State Michigan game when a news bulletin either broke in on the game, or ran at the bottom of the screen. Really bad news for those folks. Great Lakes have sunk a ton of boats, very rough up there this time of year.
