Not a very elegant exit as his ejection from yesterday's BTT game marks his last appearance on the Iowa sideline. Can we blame this one on CCC too?

I don't know anything about him outside of the arena, and I won't miss his court side antics. At all.

This seems like another case of school/fan expectations outpacing reality. The guy got Iowa to the dance 7 times in his 15 years and has an overall winning record.

Fran, Johnson, and Woody out this year. Juwan and Holtman canned last year. Hmmmm.
Hoiberg’s seat getting hotter, better beat the Cats next year.

I can see where they are coming from. Yes, he got them to the dance 7 times (and would've been 8 if not for COVID), but he never got them past the 2nd round, was upset in back to back seasons (2021 with sr. year Garza as a #2 in the 2nd round and 2022 with Keegan Murray as a #5 in the 1st round), and has been trending in the wrong direction the past four seasons. The offense isn't elite anymore, and the defense has gone from mediocre to terrible. I think it's the right move, there are definitely a number of midwestern up-and-comer coaches in lower leagues who would jump at the opportunity.

Did you see that toss yesterday? He obviously said the wrong words b/c he was incredibly low on the Franometer. There was nothing ... zilch ... nada that close to physically outrageous.

Having said that, I will not miss that pud at all. INCREDIBLY overrated.

It looked he got the second T for yelling "That's ******* ********!" Is that really enough to get tossed? Coaches swear all the time.

Hmm. Well, worst of luck to them going forward.

Seems to be a good coach with a solid (but not elite program). Chris Collins with similar outcomes is being idolized and extended while Fran is out. That in itself is a perk of being and staying at northwestern. It would be very difficult for Chris to ever get fired from NU.

I will miss Fran. Defintley an entertaining guy to watch because you never knew what you were gonna get. I’d rather have a fiery villain rival than a boring guy.

143 - 141 in Big Ten conference play.

Per Torvik, his teams have had the 18th, 17th, 4th, 3rd and 3rd most efficient offenses the last 5 seasons, with 18th being most recent.

His biggest problems are the transfer portal and recruiting in the new basketball $$$ landscape.
And defense.

But yeah, Iowa's 4th in the conference in offensive efficiency, so fire his ***.

This is good, but the scale should be reversed. I guess that’s how Iowa people do things.
It’s a parody of the Defense Readiness Condition (DEFCON). On that scale, 1 is the highest level of alert (nuclear war imminent) and increasing numbers mean decreasing level of alert.

That's all good, but my DEFCON meter goes to 11.

Any potential transfers we could get? Who is their best player? Who is second best?

Therese's nephew who want to IA and I took to the NU IA game told me he was on the hot seat and he did not think Fran would survive. Told me before that game. His own son (about a top 100-150 player) had recently chose to not go to IA and he thought that that was likely going to be deciding factor

Surprisingly not that delusional a list
Chris will be listed as a candidate for every D1 job opening. NU needs to lock him down and NIL needs to step up to give him the player's he needs. I am confident it will happen.

He is listed as a candidate for most decent opening for good reason!

I wonder if Fran stares at Caitlin Clark from across the dinner table if she accidentally spills some wine.

It is when they do it at the official that crosses the line
