Alright im asking which slasher you liked being scared of growing up. Also asking your top 3 films in each franchise and the worst single film. If you like leatherface or any others add them.

Freddy was my favorite by far.
Top 3 films are the original, Dream Warriors and New Nightmare.
Worst film was either Freddy's Dead or the remake.

Friday the 13th in no particular order, part 4, part 6, and the remake, which had by far the most intimidating Jason. The worst film is part 5.

Halloween would be the original, part 2, and the 2018 film. The worst is parts 4-6.

As a kid I liked Jason the best, 4 is the best, 5 or Manhattan are the worst..or maybe the psychic girl one.

The first nightmare is good, then when they became comedies it lost me.

Halloweens...i thought everyone hated 3.

Freddy mainly because of when we went to see #2. We were trashed before we ever left the dorm. We rolled beer bottles down the aisle when we were done with them. We gave him a standing ovation every time he killed someone. Stole the cardboard stand up poster on the way out and paraded it around the dorm when we got back. Good times.

Nightmare #2 was super homo-erotic.

Not surprised ol' Glennnnnnny went in theaters to see it.

Yeah? Well, because of guys like you they stopped making Nightmare after only 7 of them.

Would have to be Leather face for me because he is the only one who could be remotely considered in real life. In fact the character was inspired by Ed Gein fwiw.

Never got into the Nightmare on Elm Street.

Liked original Halloween and #2...H20 was decent, the Zombie one was decent as well.

Friday the 13th...like most of them 1-3 probably the best, Manhattan ok.

There were definitely mediocre to bad movies in each series.. but the REAL bad ones (reboots aside) were Halloween 6 (Curse), Halloween 8 (Resurrection), Nightmare 5 (Final Nightmare), and Friday 5..

Those are universally seen as the worst movies in the franchise. So what I find wild about that, is that EVERY movie following those train wrecks was REALLY good. In the same order, their follow ups were:

Halloween H20
Halloween (2019)
Wes Craven's New Nightmare
Friday 6 (Jason Lives)

All of these were some of the BEST movies in their franchises.

I find it very fascinating to see these movies have their highs and lows. No other genre of movie really has several films with nearly 10 (or more) installments. And it's not just these.. Chucky, Leatherface, Saw, Final Destination, Leprechaun, Wishmaster, etc etc etc

Michael Meyer scared the hell out of me as a kid. Freddy and Jason had their moments, but some scenes were just goofy, especially Freddy.

I see you left out the Rob Zombie **** shows. I would have to.

The original Halloween 1 & 2 are my favorite horror films. I also really enjoyed 4.

Well, I'm not a RZ fan.. at all.. but I'm not including any of the remakes regardless.. which includes the early 2010's Jason or Freddy reboots... however, Halloween 2019 was more in tune with the originals, so I allowed it.

I get the scare and originality of Michael Meyers.. but for whatever reason, I just liked Jason and Freddy better.

But my absolute favorite is still Chucky.. and I think Victor Crowley isn't far behind. If you're not familiar, please watch The Hatchet series.. and uh, make sure you didn't just eat dinner.

Can we all agree that you have to cut the head off a supernatural being? Anything else is pointless.

Halloween (1978) is the gold standard of horror for me. Michael Myers definitely my favorite of the slasher flicks. 3 got weird as they tried to turn the franchise into an anthology type series. The Zombie films were awful. Jury is still out on what they can do with this revival of the story.

Jack the Ripper genuinely got into his work and knew when to retire, unlike the bozos listed

Also throw hellraiser on the list

The original Texas Chainsaw still holds up, I think it looking older adds to it, like its a snuff film or something

Fred Kreuger: Nightmare 1, 3, New Nightmare.
Michael Myers: Halloween 1, 2. Haven't seen any others besides 3, which isn't a Michael Myers movie.
Jason: Jason X and Freddy vs. Jason X are the only Friday the 13ths I've seen. I played the stupid NES game a lot though.

I never found Nightmare on Elm Street to be scary at all...the others deserve consideration for greatest horror movies of all time (at least parts 1 and 2 of each series)

Jason X has possibly the best plot of a movie ever. So I go with Jason Voorhees

In the Year 2008, Jason Vorhees is cryogenically frozen in a Government Facility in Camp Crystal Lake, along with scientist Rowan. Many centuries later, in the year 2455, Earth is uninhabitable, and humans have moved to another planet known as Earth II. However, a team of students awakens both him and Rowan on a spaceship known as the Grendel. Jason begins killing the students and crew of the ship. Along the way, he is upgraded to Uber Jason. It's now up to Rowan and the surviving students to stop Jason, this time on a spaceship.

Yeah, I've got to admit that sounds like the movie experience of a lifetime.
