Hate this. LAD has become the NYY of the National League. All that money…hope they never win another title.

To me this proves that he just wanted to go home.
We are said to have offered 5 years, 140. Which is 28/year.
They gave him 6 years, 162. Which is 27/year.
And the highest California income tax bracket is double that of Georgia.
Whatever dude.

I believe CA's tax rate is actually slightly more than double. I'm still not going to blame him for going back home though. It puts him closer to his parents and I believe his dad's health isn't the best. He stayed with the Braves during some of their worst seasons when he didn't have to and it paid off a few months ago. He'll get a hero's welcome when he comes back this summer.

It was 5 years 135 million, but FF was always holding out for a 6 year deal.
I can't fault the Braves for not signing FF. If I was the GM I would not have signed a 32 year old player for 6 years @ 27 million a year. As a GM your fiduciary responsibility to the organization comes first and foremost.
Fans can be very fickle, in this case I've have already heard/read some comments that they are upset with FF for leaving. SMH

The Braves and FF can do what they want and they are both right.

I think FF himself kept his mouth firmly shut. But it is annoying how people try to portray him as "a great guy" and make him embody ideals like loyalty and generosity.

...He was also not "the heart and soul of the team". Maybe the left ventricle or the liver, haha.

And I personally got tired of hearing about his personal life and his family. It just feels like people are trying to brainwash me with that stuff. We never heard about the wives of Snitker or Matzek who were committed during the bad times. That's love. Being a parasite to build a social media profile is something else.

I think we can all agree that thank God, baseball is here again.

At this stage I don’t believe it’s about money. Maybe a story will come out later. Wouldn’t surprise me.

I never thought I would see the first braves title especially after Kirby Puckett .
Other than the cubs 2016 run I have retired MLB
For the Yardcocks and I am scared they are looking like the braves I grew up with
