I don't think it's Stoops, it's your DC that has to go.

Look at your last two games. Up 21-0 on UofL and 28-10 on USM. Both teams made changes and started steamrolling your defense and you wound up losing. DC had no answer for the adjustments.

Offense proved in both that it was capable of putting up points. I like the looks your new OC showed last night. Same old DC, same old result.

Stoops is supposed to be a defensive genius. Fire the DC tomorrow and have Stoops start running the defense.

It's not unheard of. Charlie Strong fired an OC mid season at UofL and the team immediately got better. I think the same would happen at UK.

Peace

Who in their right mind would fire Tubby? The guy is solid, Dodds is the problem. Tubby is a world class individual, incredible character, and flawless. You would be insane to replace him.

Sensing a pattern here.

People are allowed to be wrong. I agree with him on this one.
But i also think our DL is just depleted. You can not make chicken salad out of chicken poo

Our offense put up what? 14 points and 291 yards of offense against UofL last year? That's putrid.

Nobody around here even partially understands this sport, do they?

Many people claim that Stoops is coordinating the defense. That blows my mind to, considering he has had a good reputation as a defensive coach. Our defenses aren't fundamentally sound at all. i can't believe kash wasn't given a chance to try to stop the run game last night. Courtney Love was slow reacting to the football several times last night.

Is the problem D.J Eliot or is the problem Stoops himself? The defense looked decent at times during the first half. When we were aggressively attacking and blitzing, they weren't killing us with the run. Yet we came out in the 2nd half and played defense just like we played offense...super conservative. We stopped doing what had worked on both sides of the ball during the first half. To me, that is on the head coach.

How many times have we seen the same crap since Stoops has been here? We build a lead, then start playing not to lose. Then we either end up losing or fighting for our lives in the closing minutes of the game. It happened last year in our opener. It happened against South Carolina. It happened against Louisville. And it happened again last night. This man learns NOTHING from his mistakes. He says the players need to learn how to finish. Yet it is he that really needs to learn that lesson.

I think the problems begin and end with the head man. Last year Dawson became the scapegoat. Yet his offense looked pretty damn good last night without Stoops peering over his shoulder and telling him what to do. Eliot may be a terrible coach. Or he might have potential. But with Stoops micromanaging everything, there's really no way to know. But the fact that we suffered a monumental collapse on both sides of the ball tells me this is most likely an issue with the head coach, not just with one of the coordinators.

I hope Eddie Gran has the sort of relationship with Stoops that will allow him to talk some sense into the guy. Otherwise this whole thing is a lost cause.

I've never noticed Dodds posts before (I don't pay much attention to that), but to take a lost from 2006 to disparage someone else is a big reach. What he said was fair. The only I may disagree with him on is that it is Stoops, not Eliot, that is calling the shots. I wouldn't expect a UL fan to know. I can't name any UL coordinator so won't expect a fan of UL to know how UK operates.

One thing is for sure, I would love to be a fly on the wall over at the practice complex right now.

Maybe Elliott watching Southern Miss learned how to teach his def ends to seal the ends and that it can be done with 2 and 3 star recruits. Maybe he learned by watching how to stop the run up the middle.

Why would our coaches lay into each other or players during meetings and practice if they wont do it during games? I dont think accountability is a word that Stoops understands

One of the best posts I've seen on this debacle on this board. 110% on point.

I don't care if they running a 4-3, a 3-4, a 5-2, a 2-5, a 8-2, a 2-8, a 10-2, a 2-10, neither one of them are getting the job done. I read where one of the players said they were not focused. Are you kidding me? This is the first game of the year, you play 12 games and getting a free education to play FB and you are not focused. WTF is up with that?

I'm flattered that someone would keep tabs on me for 10 years, but I don't remember making that post because I have no idea who Dodds is.

However, if you have been keeping tabs on what I post for at least 10 years, you know that I'm not a hate spewing, venom filled fan. I honestly want UK to be good in football. Don't get me wrong, I want to win every game against you, but I want it to be a good game against a good team with something on the line.

I honestly think your DC isn't getting it done. Last two games have proven that he can't respond to offensive adjustments.

The most damning thing was after the UofL game last year when several UK players said after the game that during prep they didn't prepare for Lamar Jackson at all. WTH? How can you be a D-1 coordinator and NOT prepare for Lamar Jackson after seeing several of his outbursts during the season? That speaks volumes right there. Not containing him is one thing, but to not even prepare for him is inexcusable.
