mike gundy commenting about oregon’s football budget. With all the PSU nonconference schedule horse-a$$ thrown around here, I thought it was an interesting quote and concept.

Yeah, I was wondering how much Pickens money goes to football.

They all play down including OK State so until they schedule opponents in the same "league" he can't complain about others.

He is right though...most of these non conference games are a joke and it needs to change. His program can start it.

For sure. He can be the change maker instead of complaining. Maybe he'd be a better messenger if OkSU hadn't played UT-Martin in their opener - and only won 27-7.

And yes, I had to google UT-Martin to see if it was Texas or Tennessee. Turns out it's in Tennessee.

Not for nutt'in, but most of these schools specifically play these games for the payday and because their budgets are insufficient. So how goes Grundy propose these teams make up these paydays - by playing each other??? Minor FBS teams probably generate upwards of $1.5 million dollars by playing the biggest FBS teams in one-off away-only games.

Also, the G5 teams will have no prayer of getting ranked high enough and making the CFP if they all only play one another and none of them have any wins over P4 teams. I doubt there are any G5 teams in favor of Grundy's idea as it decreases their budgets and excludes them from the CFP.

CFB has become a race to pay the most for a National Championship. Whoever can spend the most for the best players has the best shot to win it all. It is not about the Jimmies and the Joes, but now it’s about the Benjamins.

And for PSU, it’s about the Wileys and the Berkeys.

I thought it was University of Tim Martin, the British business man.
