From a sports watching enthusiast standpoint, being 58 years old has been the best

In almost every sport, I've witnessed arguably the GOAT in their prime.

Brady
MJ
Tiger/Nicklaus
Federer/Joker/Nadal
Gretzky
Ronaldo
Secretariat
Michael Phelps

Harder to name GOAT in baseball and boxing but certainly several in my lifetime that would be on the short list.

I mean I’m 39 and have seen all that minus Secretariat but I get from where you’re coming.

Its hard for a lot of those sports to pick. I think MJ, Phelps and Gretzky are really locked in, but Ronaldhino/Messi/Pele/Maradona are pretty tough, tennis is tough as well. Baseball is nearly impossible due to positions and pitching included.

I agree though. When people say they “hate” LeBron or Brady or whoever I’m like, you don’t like watching greatness? Whether they play for your team or beat them it’s a pleasure to watch the best of the best in any endeavor.

When people let their personal bias in the way they’re only hurting themself*.

*This doesn’t include college basketball where if a great team went undefeated or some player out Anthony Davis’ed Anthony Davis, I would hate them like a scorned woman.

Yeah totally understand that viewpoint but it was a completely different era than all others and no one could match his height or ability. It’s so close these days. You can’t just be tall and athletic. You have to be god given talent good, not that Wilt wasn’t but his contemporaries let him down imo.

I’d were going alt sports, that beach volleyball female combo we had won like an insane amount of games in a row including the Olympics.

58 here as well, and I understand your topic, however, we can't dismiss the era's of our parents, and even grandparents. There were quite a few "goats" in their day as well.
