Frost's doghouse...

With the criticisms of Bo and his doghouse for players not towing the line, for whatever reason, I am wondering what the reaction will be with Frost. If he is establishing a new culture and a talented, but wayward, player is in Frost's doghouse (maybe called the Cooler??), will there be more patience for that scenario?

Depends.

It may have ticked me off that some good players weren't playing because they were in the dog house, but who is to say it wasn't a valid reason (weed, alcohol, grades, fighting, etc) and we just incorrectly assumed ot was the doghouse?

Frost can do no wrong. He was a former Husker! No questioning him whatsoever! Just like Solich, Bohl, or Parella.

I don't think a lot of people have a problem with a coach having a "doghouse". It is sort of like sitting a kid in the corner. What was perplexing about Bo's doghouse was it seems some players disappeared for so long, even across seasons they should have been on milk cartons. If the transgression is that bad, do everybody a favor and cut the kid loose.

I agree. Whatever happened to Jano before Riley got here?

I don't think Frost will have nearly the same problems that Riley had coming in. Riley had to deal with players who were on winning teams and had a coach who made the transition difficult for anyone new coming in. Riley's players are coming off two out of three losing seasons and Riley was cordial in handing over the reigns. I think the players will buy into Scott Frost.

I think everybody should just shut the hell up until he’s had at least 2 years. That should give the freaks plenty of ammunition (even if only b.b. pellets) to unleash hell in year 3, and it will give me a minimum of 2 years to visit this site without developing a migraine.

I really see Frost as being above all that petty crap. Any discipline that is given out will be deserved, but he will be quick to forgive and give second chances. Osborne-like in this regard, too.

I'm OK with how he decides to handle his players. I have to trust it's best for the team and player. There has to be uniformity though and not the wishy-washy stuff like Bo.

Why even ask that question? Have nothing else to do?

If you dont think solich bohl or parella were questioned you're an idiot.

As far as doghouses go, I wonder if any of the players in Rileys doghouse are looking forward to another chance.

If Frost has a doghouse, a player will be in it for violating team rules or not busting his *** everyday. I don`t see Frost as the type of guy that plays favorites or has sacred cows.

I tend to agree. I think Bo’s doghouse was based on making a bad play and then not seeing the field again until next season. i.e. Banderas’ Freshman year. Not a fan of coaches who don’t let kids make mistakes and learn from it. He would sit them and allow them to lose their confidence...

Well that plus the team ran an offense that had no use for a fullback.

While I understand that the offense didn’t use a FB. But you have an NFL caliber player in your roster that is going completely unused. You find a way to use NFL caliber players. Especially when you only have a few in your roster.

I think Jano was less about being in a doghouse and more about stupidity of the staff.
Jano got a lot of playing time his freshman year and played very well. He disappeared for a couple years and reemerged his senior year

You imagine it looks like one of these Igloo dog houses?
