I'm not liking what we've seen so far in this game with no lead guard. This is what i'd expect to see a lot of this season, tight pressure pushing our team out away from the 3 pt line, and even some full court pressure. We have nobody who can simply beat their guy off the dribble forcing them to respect a drive. This is going to be ugly today and possibly the season. Inability to recruit a lead guard in 3 years is now a disaster.

But, by the way, F these refs.

The announcers have no idea what they're talking about... The press hasn't caused any of the turnovers all have been in the half court

I’m only looking at the score and reading the game cast. This team has some serious flaws and maybe only 3-5 good players. We may be deep but after law pardon and maybe one of the transfers. We are young. Raw and I’m sirry. Ash and Gaines are not starters in any big ten team.

I saw these flaws in our first few games and they will be even more glaring in the big ten

Woof. This is not good. Lots of standing around and taking threes. FSU is getting much better shots. Not that it would change the result, but these refs are terrible.

Just pitiful defense today. There are so many miscommunications and bad switches. Saw this in the first three games as well, but didn't hurt us against far inferior competition. These kids are going to have to grow up quickly this season.

Law missing most of first half with foul trouble, combined with a strange decision by Collins to play Ash a lot this half, are both not helping an already gross performance.

Taylor and Turner are 2-10! They make a couple and the refs don't screw us,and we are right there! We absolutely have to have Ash and Greer on the floor. Turner has a couple turnovers already. Too slow for these guys.

An understatement. At both ends of the floor, which surprised me. Really disappointing.

When recruiting fails like it did with four guys, you’re forced to bring in transfers and it’s just a band aid until you can recruit well again. We have had three transfers out and one major disappointment in Falzon. It seems like we are two or three years away, when Nance, Kopp and Greer are seasoned upperclassmen. Next year will be tough without Law and Pardon. I think this is going to get worse than this before it gets better. We really fudged it on four guys and our school historically has never been able to cover up well for losing three or four guys to injury or transfer.

Fair enough, but why not give a scholarship to a grad transfer PG? There were a number on the market, any of which would likely be better than what we have right now. After over 4 years in the program, Ash still can't play the position. Greer is just coming in and learning. There was a starting spot to simply hand to a transfer. Frustrating.

Meanwhile, in this game... make a damn shot!

Has Turner made a 3 pt shot this season since his very first one in the exhibition game?

Turner keeps lobbin' up 3's even though he's hit zilch so far..always a good strategy. We didn't use Pardon offensively at all this game.

What happened to our vaunted freshman many other teams are playing freshman equally or even lower-rated who are starters and contributing significantly

obviously our freshmen arent ready. And Turner just doesnt have a shot in games. Taylor needs to keep shooting.

That was pretty ugly. It was only one game but we need to be a much better than this. Much much better. I just can’t believe how poorly this team is shooting.

Pretty bad basketball. No flow. Nothing except standing around.
Time to go with the freshmen.
Greer probably needs to be thrown into the fire quicker than desired. Nance just isn't ready. Those who said he would take some time but has a high ceiling were on the money.

They tried but couldn’t get anybody good enough.

Why is it surprising? Our best pure shooter is hurt and ineffective at everything except shooting anyway. Our best scorer from last year graduated. The only shot creator who would have returned was pushed out and transferred.

Taylor has been invisible so far, which surprises me. I thought Kopp would be a better scorer, and in general we're not making open shots.

We got to do better than 35% from the field and 27% from 3 point land.
