I have read nothing that indicates that VT is going to be anything more than a mid to lower tier ACC team. If we don't win by three scores we have problems.
If they aren't at least serviceable against VT, someone has been lying about recruiting and talent.
VT played Clemson to a 10 point game and was absolutely cheated out of a road win over Miami last year. Mobile QB that can throw. Would be a grave mistake to overlook this opponent. Could get embarrassed by doing so.
We didn't look good against ODU last year, but overcame. Need to avoid the first game slump.
I've talked myself into believing Stewart and Thomas Jr on the ends are pretty good. I think JayR Johnson, Murphy, and Okoronkwo might work out well. Now for the DT's.

Few things more pompous and foolish than a South Carolina fan disrespecting an opponent.
Can't have it both ways. We can't strut and crow about having a Heisman QB and an All American DE, a great coach and how we are headed to the playoff and then not say we should be able to easily handle a middling ACC team who has had pretty well complete roster turnover since last season. Carolina is a 9.5 pt favorite. That is a big spread for a matchup of two P4 teams when one isn't a perennial cellar dweller.
I don't see it as disrespect.
The only folks strutting and crowing are the equivalent of the ones declaring that less than a three td win over a program like Va Tech represents ‘problems’.
Disrespect it is. With no more merit than declaring we’re playoff bound.
What "merit" do you have? I fully expect to beat VT by at least 21 points. Do you want me to lie?
