Future HWT Recruiting

Just curious, anybody have any news on future HWT recruiting? Is Nick Pavlechko from SC a possibility. He is a returning state 3rd place finisher at 215 last year who bumped up to HWT this year and his only losses look to be Robell and Mullen?

It looks like Robell is headed to James Madison to play OL, so he, unfortunately isn’t an option.

Cole Mirasola would certainly be in the mix as would AJ Fricchione. Cole is only 195, but won Wiscy States at 285 and AJ is wrestling 215. Tom's rundown on how our recruits are doing in post season pinned at the top is a wealth of information.

Looking at the two Mirasola brothers, Cole appears to be shade taller than his bro with a frame which could handle another 30-40 lbs of muscle.

In the thread about their commitment, someone posted rankings for 285...........pretty good for some who isn't a true 285 guy yet

Thanks. I have read all the updates on recruits, but I guess I didn’t pay too much attention to the weights. Also, I’ve been looking at Diceman’s spreadsheet and it lists the twins at 184 and 197. Interesting in that the ranking you listed made no mention of Neves. Neves was ranked #7 at 285 and knocked off #1 Mullen at ETR this season. Not sure how he wouldn’t be in the current ranking unless is is out for the year or something?

Askren says he expects the twins at 195 + 285.

Cole Mirasola wrestled 195 earlier in Feb, then dominated WI states at HWT. His finals victim is probably a mid-level D1 starter (if he doesn't go football) -- Cole majored him.

Neves is probably out. He "soft verbaled" to PSU last year,. Neves has since re-opened his recruitment and has visited Stanford (at least).

PSU is also in on WI 220 Koy Hopke (2024), U17 world champ. He might be the best of the lot.

Cael recently paid an in-home visit to Rune Lawrence. It's not yet clear if Lawrence will be a 197 or 285. Also, he seems less likely to PSU after the twins committed.

One other name to watch: Seminary 195 Jude Correa (NH, 2025). Also not clear if he's a college 197 or 285.

Robell is going football, and Kinney likely will too.

Other than that, Cael might look for depth.

I'm pretty sure that the "victim," Griffin Empey, verballed to play OL (football) at North Dakota State.

Need to squint pretty hard to see Lawrence coming since he's the same year as Ryder and the twins. He'd probably have to walk on, vs. getting significant offers elsewhere.

Correa is a hair easier to see since he's a year later. Maybe some grayshirt + redshirt combo. Does seem unlikely though.

Yeah, I’m thinking Lawrence will end up somewhere else and have a good college career. Can’t blame him though if more is offered elsewhere.

Ok. Have to ask, even though it sounds ridiculous. Is there any semblance of truth to the rumor that Beard will transfer back to PSU after this year? It seems too outrageous to be possible, but stranger things have happened and I have heard this more than once.

There's no rumor. Only a few PSU fans on message boards wishing.
