I made a bet on the super bowl, and never bet. It shows that I risk 22 and win 20. I wasn't paying attention and it said -110. Does that mean I only win 2 dollars profit, or do I actually get my 20 back and the 22?? Sorry.... I'm a definitely a rookie when it comes to this. Just wanted to try it for the super bowl

First to answer you question, you will profit $20 should your bet win. Think of it like this, you hand me $22 to make your wager. Should you win that bet, I will give you the $22 back plus $20 additional.

When you look at the numbers beside a bet such as the (-110) that is what is called the "juice". This is the books way of collecting interest from you. The -110 in your case represents 10% juice. For every $10 you wager, you must pay an additional $1. This is also considered betting the favorite. Anytime you see a minus sign in front of the number it means you are betting on the favorite.

When you see a situation like +110 that means you are betting on the underdog. For example if you wagered $100 on a bet that has +240 beside it you would win $240 for every $100 bet ($140 profit).

I hope I haven't lost you. Welcome to the gambling world.
