We've got the rare weekday matinee today, as the Ivy League Bears visit Welsh-Ryan for the last game of the 2022 calendar year.

This could be a recruiting game. Rown kids could definitely Italy tranfer to NU. Anya is a decent freshman.

According to commentators, Nicholbomb mentioned as X factor by CC.

This might complete the bingo card of X factors. You get an X factor, you get an X factor…

In this case though, obvious. Duh! Cats are undefeated with MN as a starter. 💯 X factor.

Brown doing a better job of exploiting our overhelp and double teaming than much better teams did

Also we still can't shoot both threes and layups. Not sure why people are thinking we are a mid-tier big ten team

Brown looks to me like the least skilled group of players we have faced. Lighter, shorter, slower, not particularly skilled at anything. But not the worst team as they play pretty smart.

These refs are making a ton of questionable calls and most of them are going against us. They need to let the teams play.

Brown plays hard. They took the real north carolina team to the wir last year couple of their players are no star from nepsac

Defensive communication is terrible first half. Verhoven was jumping screens when he should not. No help on back door.

Cats are consistently a step behind these guys on defense. Their help is slow to recover, while Brown has good ball movement and sharp, crisp passing.

This could be uglier if Brown ever figures out both NU bigs are slow to recover off their screens.

We will win this game. We will get some offensive flow.

But this half is an example of what our weaknesses are on defense. Brown, with much slower, shorter players, shares the ball and gets open shots. They just wait for our mistakes on helping too much or double teaming when we shouldn’t.

The 3 from their leftie was a perfect example of this. Some dude who looks like he’s 5’10 dribbles to under the basket and we double team. Ball ends up outside the 3 pt line for open shot. They had a few of these they missed.

I am surprised none of these mid majors ever showed a zone against us. Wide open zone inviting the ball to go in.

Also they have gotten every loose ball opportunity. It would not surprise me if we lose this game

They are not playing without struggles. They had 12 turnovers at the half.

It’s only going to get worse for Brown as they get tired. It’s very hard to keep composure when you are banging the entire game against players much bigger and faster than you.

NU gets open shots as well, they miss.

Chase and Boo making bad decision off the screens and pin downs

I don’t know man, Audige just got a and 1 on what looked like a clear offensive foul to me

I don't think we're faster than them at all in fact they have a few guys that seem more athletic than anyone on our team except for Chase

Very little on the offensive end from any of the big guys today. Good for Chase, Boo and Ty picking up the slack. This is the perfect tune-up after a long break and heading into B1G play. Plenty for the coach to yell about, but we still got the victory.

Good win. Potential trap game with Big Ten looming in three days. Brown will be a contender in the Ivy, along with Cornell, Princeton, Yale and Harvard, all of which are very decent mid-majors. This is how it will be for the Cats in the BIG. Tough, low-scoring rock fights. No more blowouts like we enjoyed vs. DePaul and UIC, I'm afraid. Kudos to Coach Collins and the team for making it a fun November and December after that horrible football season, no matter what happens from now on. Very few would have predicted this team would be 10-2 at this point.

Kinda like the Prairie View A & M game. Trap game after a week off and before a big game. Glad to get the W as that was rough. Not indicative however of what we should expect on Sunday. I think we'll do just fine against Ohio State.

Ugh, missed the game as I thought it was tonight. Perhaps that is a good thing. I was preoccupied with an electrical emergency. There is some kind of electrical short on our block that turned part of the sidewalk into a hot plate. Our dog stepped onto a section of sidewalk and let loose a howl I had never heard. The neighbor's dog walked up to it, sniffed it, and refused to budge. Comed showed up, and it turns out the streetlight had a short, and the parkway strip of soil, sidewalk and the neighbor's iron fence were all hot! Crazy. Glad my dog didn't get cooked.

We would be a great Ivy League team and probably get to the tournament most years. Brown is ranked below us academically-- #13. We have to play Purdue--they don't.

That’s crazy. Glad hungry dog is ok.
