So who is gonna guard Keegan Murray? I would go with Audige — even if he gives up a lot of size. I think Simmons may get some time guarding him too. Roper has gotta be in Bohannon’s jersey all day.

NU is gonna have someone tired legs…but they should have plenty of adrenaline.

I told a friend before the last game that I would put Audige on him despite the size difference. Not perfect but I think it’s our best option.

Just turned it on. McCaffery’s giving us a lot of respect in the pregame.

He said “just throw out the last game because NU had 6 guys out with the flu”.

He also spoke of how well we played in the second half against Nebraska last night, “one of the hottest teams in the country”.

Good christ.... I think we have 20 turnovers already on only 10 possessions. At least it feels that way.

Wtf happened on Buie’s turnover? Did a ghost deflect it?
Nance thought he was shooting, so he turned to box out. Buie threw it to nobody as a result. We look like crap on both ends.

So we decided, as usual, to run the script. No plan for Murray but to stick Beran on him and pray. Gave up a double digit lead and, probably more important, the momentum and the tone.

In the words of the great philosopher Borat: “Niiiiice”

Sometimes I wonder if Berry has Kopp-itis. How could he miss both free throws??

My god, Iowa plays so smart. I know it's easy to say they are well-coached, but at some point, players either understand how to play the game or they don't. Case in point, Audige drives into the paint and the Iowa defender knows he is never going to pass out of that, so he leaves his man to get the steal when Audige tries that stupid spin move in the paint. The Iowa guy knows how to read the scouting report and make the instinctual play. Audige just doesn't get it.

Just to show how much recruiting rankings matter, Beran, Nance, Berry, Simmons, Roper and Barnhizer all had much higher rankings than Murray and Perkins on TOS. Buie and Young had similar rankings.

I'm legitimately concerned about the basketball knowledge of anyone who thinks Collins isn't the problem

Give it a rest man. You act like we’d be a Final Four team if we had a different coach. I’m not even the biggest Collins supporter, but acting like he’s the only problem is a joke.
I agree. We have players who keep making the same dumb mistakes even though they have played a lot of BIG games.

I think the vast majority of people on here think Collins is a problem. The debate is over how much of the problem is his fault solely.

PWB's comments are like Audige's offense. You know exactly what he's going to do. It's annoying as hell. It brings no advantage to the situation, and it isn't going to change.

That’s all true. At the same time, I have seen Greer twice have Young down low and turn away from getting him the ball. That’s just a consequence on how you coach these guys

I don't understand how that can be true. We've seen Young get the ball on the post hundreds of times. They aren't coached against doing this. I think it is more the lack of confidence that Greer tends to play with that makes him worry he can't make the pass or that he can't trust his teammate to get it. I just don't see how that is coaching. That is on the players.

That’s my point. Collins is a problem to a degree. No argument. But our rebounding is horrendous. Not getting back on defense after a basket. Missing a lot of free throws. Those things are on the players.

If I had it to do all over again, I would pick attending Northwestern 1000 times out of 1000, but man... what it must be like to have your alma mater actually have a good basketball team. That would be so much fun.

Then you don’t understand how the coach sets priorities for an offense.
