We can put 2 games in between us and the rest of the league with win against USF, and eliminate the head to head tie breaker...

...or let them tie it and leave them with the tie breaker.

BIG GAME !!!

We played like straight boo boo last night but pulled off a win against a good team that we only play once this season. Next we have USF who just destroyed us at home. Now its time to get revenge but if we play them like we played FAU last night then they will sweep us.

Bracketologists have moved OSU ahead of TU in the at-large numbers due to them finally winning a Quad 1 game after losing the rest. If TU played 8 quad 1 teams, we would win 1 or 2 as well.

I know it’s fun for everyone to watch the NET and pour through the various brackets but honestly we need that tournament win in Birmingham to make the dance. Assuming we’re a one or two seed in the conference tournament, our goal, then if we win out we can only have 29 wins without winning the tournament. Assuming we lose a couple that takes us to 27 and 6 although for tournament consideration we would be 25 and 6 due to the 2 non-D1 games. Back in 2025 UC-Irvine was left out with a record of 28 and 6. Our weak schedule will really hinder our chances for an at-large even with a best case scenario of 29-4, 27-4 on the team sheets. I’m not even considering bid stealers.

So the bubble watch is out on ESPN as I posted about the other day. They had us down as long shots to get in. The bubble watch was updated yesterday after our FAU game and they now have us as work to do. This is the current write up for TU.

I do believe that we will have to win the tournament now to get in there but it will be interesting to watch and see what happens.

Tulsa Golden Hurricane (American)

Updated: Feb. 4, 9:06 p.m.

The Golden Hurricane have been a darling of the bracket watchers this season, bouncing back from a few early losses in conference play to win seven in a row after beating FAU on the road Wednesday. They remain in a borderline "long shot" zone nonetheless, as the consensus forecast assigns them around a 10% chance to grab an at-large bid. But they rank borderline top 50 in the résumé ranking -- within striking distance of the bubble cutoff -- and they'll get a few chances to add to that a bit soon with games against South Florida and Wichita State coming up.

Next game: at South Florida (Sunday)

Whatch out... I said this very thing and I've had to ignore an account that posts a ton because they went unhinged on me.

But, I 100% agree with your assesment of Tulsa's situation here. Win the tournament and erase all doubt.

3 out of 5 of his posts aren't negative & he doesn't make negative assumptions about the team based on no facts.

I didn't become 'unhinged' over one post. Don't try to normalize your posting habits by comparing them to other individual posts by other posters.

You didn't used to be like this. You may have had tendencies, but not enough to post about usually. It's just seems odd that you are more negative about this team than you have been in the past with former konkol teams, Haith teams, etc. You can't always get what you want, then you bitchbout it. You are so used to the team not doing well, that you still make those same assumptions you have become habitualized to over the years.

Finished with this subject.

We all feel gun shy of getting an ncaa bid and deep in our heart are waiting for the other shoe to drop after not winning our league tournament and only getting a Bid as a miracle then losing one and done on the playin game and not even getting a sniff in most years since our 32 and 5 team 25 years ago and they only got a 7 seed beat an average unlv then beat a 2 seed Cincy that was a 1 seed all year until an injury to an all world player leaving them no match for us and then beat really good 3,seed Miami only to lose to a not very good nc team a 10 seed who never should have been in the tourney in elite 8 game and then got blasted in the final 4 semis thus our legacy and with nil we will never do that again but then again net 320 oru was in the elite 8 game very recently go figure its hard for a real Tulsa fan and undergrad and mba alum that’s how I feel most Tulsa fans see failure and a loss in close games konkol May prove us wrong but we will get no favors sorry for the long rant but but it had to be said

Conference pairing are probably going to change drastically when Temple and Charlotte drop to their real places in Conference. Wichita St, Memphis, and FAU(hopefully if they recover from injuries soon) will likely jump Charlotte and Temple. Charlotte and Temple will likely finish around UAB territory.

With 8 games to go it’s going be be quite the battle for that 10th spot and a chance to play for the championship.

You just don't want to play UAB or Memphis with their big crowds.

With the current pairings we would only see either of those teams in the finals
Need to travel well but no nonstop flights to either city from Tulsa.

They should always have these things at a major hub city.

It looks like you don't have to win a quad 1 game to be in the tournament. Ohio State is 0-6 in quad 1 games and Lunardi has them in ???????????????????They are 39 NET. I guess if you just play q-1 games it bumps you up 5 points win or lose in the NET?????

So we are talking about Q wins and losses. UNI just moved up in the Q rating with their win yesterday. This is how our schedule looks. Each team is sitting in the collum of their current Q rating. In parenthesis you will see the +/- for each team with respect to location of the game (H/A/N). The + is how many spots they need to go to get to a higher rating. The - is how many they need to drop to go to a lower Q rating.

I dont know why I decided to do this, I just did. This was a lot of work and you may not see this again. lol. They are listed in order from closest to promotion to closest to relegation.

Those games in bold have been played.

K-State choked away a win in Fort Worth. Haggerty’s 2 turnovers in the last minute were big. TCU wins 84-82. KSU will most likely have a new head coach and a new leading scorer next season.
