Gavin Newsom continues to put himself in his favorite place to be. The news.
This time he’s making headlines with regards to UCLA’s impending 2024 move out of the Pac-12 Conference to the Big 10.
In a recent interview with Fox 11 in Los Angeles, Newsom explained how he heard about UCLA’s decision and his initial reactions to it.

(The amount of debt ucla has is striking but not surprising in this spend it all and then some culture)

Amazing that a school like UCLA can be $100 million in debt, how does that happen???

It’s not the school that is in debt, it’s the athletic department. And it’s because they have an even shittier deal with the school than UK’s athletic department does. The school takes all revenue from parking, sponsorship deals, and other streams.

It brings up another interesting point that I’m surprised newsom didn’t raise. California has laws against public employee travel to some states who have laws they don’t like, wonder how that will play when they have to go to certain states for conference games.

I believe that during the pandemic (Under California's emergency precautions) California schools not only couldn't have fans. But, they couldn't actually compete in California.

Arrogant turd. Doesn’t California have enough problems without him wasting his time on sports? Crime, taxes, insane regulations, producers moving out of state, homeless takeover of cities. Sheesh. This move might bring some good PR to LA and his state, bring fans from the middle to make friends but that is probably what worries him.

That's right. Didn't Newsom recently go to Montanna when they prohibit state employees from traveling there?

Man it's unbelievable. He's dumber than a Box of rocks but because he's young and has charisma if he ran for president a bunch of nitwits would vote for him. Corrupt to the core

State government and/or officials getting involved with the athletics of their public state universities is nothing new.

The UK-UL football series was renewed in the 90’s in large part due to the state legislature forcing the issue. And a bit part of the reason why Virginia Tech was brought into the ACC in 2004 was because of the Virginia governor putting major pressure on UVA to pull strings.

They will have classes educating the student athletes on the "discriminatory laws" and travel funding will have to come from somewhere besides the school.

It only hurts the California student athletes. No one here gives a **** about trannys and the rest of those nutjobs.

I think I may have posted this before, but I was in Utah during the pandemic craze and there was a California traveling team water polo tournament being held in Utah, because the restrictions in Cali were too great. So, a bunch of Cali families traveled to Utah for a long weekend so their kids could get scouted. Salt Lake City was happy.

The hell with tasting freedom. Stay in Florida where they can at least get a drink of water.

You don't like him for President? I had never heard of him before but if he couldn't find a way to lower gas prices (which are ruining the country) then I would agree he is pretty incompetent.
