Lately he's acted as more of a mouthpiece for the conference than the commissioner. By design or was it just his ego?? Either way, it'll be nice to have someone speak for the conference who isn't employed by a member university.

Based on when he went to college, he's probably around 66 or so. It's possible he just might want to retire.

He’s a scheming, corrupt, dbl-taking, shady dude that somehow positioned himself on every important sports committee. I don’t know how Da O$U continues to land those type of roles, but they do. They are definitely the “dark net” of college athletics and over-invited, and entirely self-interested. I am sure some corruption is catching up to him that that shady-arse skool will try to be minimizing

Not sure why some think this is a surprise. The man is 67 years old.

There is nothing suspicious about the timing. Just another boomer deciding to retire.
