General Lee

Went to my local Hobby store today to buy a "Dukes of Hazard" 'General Lee' model kit to build with my son, only to find out that they have pulled them off the shelves...everywhere! Has this country gotten so soft that they have to censor everything, even model kits now? This has got to be one of the saddest things I've ever seen, because of a flag?!?! The guy at the shop told me that they have re-released the kit, but with the confederate flag decal removed from the kit. Are you kidding me??? So basically it's just an orange '69 Dodge Charger with an 01 on the doors and nothing more. So pathetic. People need to grow a thicker skin, really.

I understand what the symbology of the flag is and it is offensive to some people, but we need to draw a line somewhere with all the damn censorship. I guess it's what we get with a bleeding heart liberal running this country.

Regardless of it's history, the Confederate Flag should NEVER be associated with the atrocities associated with the swastika. Yes there were crimes against humanity committed in the name of the south, but nothing compares to the genocide committed by the Nazi's. It isn't even close.

Your hobby store is a private entity. It made the choice of not offering your toy conveyance. I can only believe they feel it would hurt their bottom line by keeping it on the shelves.

Hmmm... I don't know about that take, unless you're just ribbing him.

I'm guessing his kid is in the 8-12 range. You have to have patience and follow directions... sitting still while doing something with your Dad. IMO, it beats the constant TV and video games I see most kids doing, these days.

Yeah because X-box, PS, Facebook, Twitter and all the other electronic things that take up so much of kids time are a lot better than putting together a model car.
