Hoyas and Coppin State going to OT. Coppin State lost to Charlotte by 23 just yesterday. Will be interesting to see how NU does next Tuesday.

Georgetown has some height in their frontcourt, including Wahab (the transfer back from Maryland) and a 7'2" Mutombo coming off the bench.
Will be the opposite of Northern Illinois, who has little frontcourt size and small guards.

Plus they have to deal with Akok, he is a big the can shoot the 3 , I'd Range and fi is around d the hoop. Loves to block shots

Someone has to defend Primo, the point guard. Could be an issue.

But if NU can move the ball and shoot it consistently, they have a chance.

In interesting results, Bellarmine spoiled Kenny Payne's debut as Louisville's head coach.

Bellarmine, who is ineligible to make the tournament, but would have made it otherwise last year. Who lost their two best scorers, one transferred to Vermont.

The legend of Scott Davenport continues. He is 64, but would not mind seeing him for 5 years in purple.

They also lost an exhibition game to Lenoir-Rhyne by 10......

I sat next to him for about ten minutes at an AAU game in Charlotte this past summer. Really nice guy.

Not only does Georgetown have Dikembe Mutombo's son, but they also have Gheorghe Mureșan's son. Must be difficult to be the son of a former star actor.

I posted most of this on another thread, but it probably belongs here. My bad.

Georgetown's top 6 guys (by minutes) were not on last years (terrible) team.

Primo Spears started at guard for Duquesne last year, averaging 12.7 ppg as a freshman.
Brandon Murray, a 6'5" 225 lb guard, started for LSU last season as a freshman, averaging 10 ppg.
Qudus Wahab, 6'11" 245lbs, averaged 7.7 ppg, 5.6 rpg playing 19 minutes for Maryland last year.
Bryson Mozone (Mo zone) 6'6" 210 lbs, played 4 years at SC Upstate, averaging 15.8 ppg last year.
Akok Akok (A cuck) 6'10" 215 lbs played 14 mpg last year for UConn.
Wayne Bristol, 6'6" 195 lbs, played for Howard in 2019-20, then re-surfaced this year with the Hoyas.

Jordan Riley, 6'4" 200 lbs, played in 9 games for Georgetown last year.

Georgetown looks like a physical challenge. Have to shut down their guards.

We've at least faced Wahab last year, where he didn't do much against us. In 2 games, only a combined 11 points on 2-9 shooting and 9 boards. When he's in, yeah, they have a lot of size, but hopefully we can get him in foul trouble - he fouled out in only 15 minutes against Coppin St. When he's out, Akok goes to C and they go 5-out, but their size advantage goes away, as their next-tallest guy is only 6'6".

Ewing likes to have them play fast and crash the boards, while taking very few threes relatively on offense and inviting them on the other end.

If we're not winning at halftime, I'm going to be....very pessimistic on this season.

Winning at the half, but losing the lead and the game would be better? Seems worse to me.

Well, no, my statement was more based on the fact that Georgetown was only beating Coppin State and Green Bay by 2 at halftime, obviously blowing the game would be worse.

Well, Georgetown just blew an 11-point halftime lead and lost 84-66 to Loyola Marymount.

Hoyas have no three point shooters. A fatal flaw in today's college basketball. Loyola Marymount buried a bnch of threes to pull away. I'm on my way to Welsh Ryan. There will be no gimmes for this Wildcat team but hopefully they can stay injury free an be competitive this year.
