Currently have a Char-Grill Charcoal Grill and want to get a new grill that is a combo Gas/Charcoal type. I'm also wanting something that will allow me to smoke foods.

Not looking to spend Rec Tec money either. Anyone have suggestions or share what you have? How do you like it?

Those things are just beastly. Could probably slow grill an infant giraffe inside the damn thing.

Yes, they are large, but if you grill meats and veggies, the space goes quickly. Always better to have more space than not enough space.

I also do a lot of salmon smoking and bought a grill extender where I can smoke about 15 lbs of salmon at a time. Eat a few pounds over a couple of days and freeze the rest.

I'm cheap. I'm intrigued by this.

Ninja Foodie Convection oven and AIR FRYER. No oil needed. Best 250$ you'll ever spend. Best chicken wings, chicken tenders, burgers, pizza, etc I've ever tasted. Don't know how they do it, but they did.

Big Joe...

My next grill will either be a Kamado Joe or a Pellet Grill I just haven't decided which I want. I smoke stuff year around anyone know which would work better in colder temps? My Masterbuilt Electric Smoker has always worked pretty well even in cold temps.

I've never owned a combo unit but hard for me to believe you aren't better off with a dedicated smoker and dedicated gas grill.

Here is what I can tell you about the Joe. I bought it when it first came out. 2015...first generation.

I love using it to grill and smoke. Most of the time, this means using it on the weekends. I just find charcoal to be the best to cook with. I also have a gas grill that I use when we need to cook something quickly.

With that said, the customer service from KJ is just over the top. They are currently on gen 3 of the grill and have had major improvements. All those improvements (which one possible) have been retrofitted for my version. They have given me all those parts for free. All those items are not cheap either.

I love my Joe...and I am sure I would love a BGE if i bought that instead.

For $11,000 I would hope they would be. I don't care how much money I made I wouldn't pay $11,000 for a grill and I love grilled/smoked food as much as anyone.
You can buy a good tractor with a back-hoe attachment for that money, and dig out a fresh pit big enough to host every family on your country block, skewer a hog and burn it whole over a bed of coals covered under a large (and cheap) sheet of 5V roofing tin. End result just as good if not a helluva lot better. Plus, you've got a damn tractor instead of a grill. Which one is gonna help you fill that damn hole back in anyways?

And I sure could use a new tractor. Added bonus of a backhoe!! This is the way to do it!
