I've been preaching about recruiting for a long time, and too many people have told me to trust BP because he spots diamonds in the rough.

Yes, he does when it comes to skilled players. NO NO NO when it comes to the line. All this time and scholorships spent on WRs and other skilled positions doesn't mean crap when your line isn't worth a damn.

We're loaded at skill positions. Time to invest in some linemen that can actually block and understand a snapcount. I'm not sure all of these linemen could start at Trinity, much less a major D1 program.

I don't recall reading that we were turning away 5-star linemen who wanted to commit.

If I'm going to point the finger at any coaching, I'm inclined to consider Hank's criticism of Coach K from last year. The issue on offense is I know how much control Petrino has over everything...

We're not turning them away, we're spending all of our time and resources on skill players. Just got a verbal from a 4 star stud rb out of Florida. We're not putting the time and effort into the cream of the crop linemen

And you know this how?...

Because I actually follow recruiting. Check the recruiting boards. Look at the top linemen, seen who's recruiting them and who they're considering.

If you're not smart enough to figure that out, don't bother commenting. You just make the UK fans opinions of you look correct. UofL concentrates on skill players. If they do pick up a good/decent lineman, it's through juco or transfer.

I'll speculate that you don't follow jacksh!t but troll around looking for someone or something to blame when you're unhappy.

And if you continue to live among slapd!cks, you'll came away with all sorts of misinformation (and maybe a disease or two)...

11 sacks and a safety to finish it off. The only thing you've got is name calling. Just proves what an idiot you are. Go back to cruising king fish looking for women, you're obviously more competent at that than you are football.

This line sucks. You're a rose colored glass moron because you can't see it.

Really disappointed that Petrino seemingly didn't make adjustments. If you're o-line cannot block then you have to try: 1) rolling the pocket, 2) screens and draws, 3) quick slants and outs. It was just bizarre.

As for Coach Klenakis....wow. I'll just say this....when an o-lineman falls on his *** when in his stance, then you know you have poor technique and not enough coordination to play at this level.

the DC has a boner for the blitz and it is the reason they burned us. They just threw over our blitz and we just stood and watched theirs.
When your offense keeps turning the ball over--literally and on downs--to the other team, you get tonite's result on defense. We've lost that way time and again over the years not to recognize it...

To blame the defense for this loss would be a horrible misdirection.
Their not entirely at fault but they certainly had a hand in it. Especially in the first half. They moved the ball on us with little resistance. Sure we spotted them 14 but they scored 22 legitimate points. The penalties continue (Lack of discipline) and continue to put the ball on the ground and it's getting worse. Not sure if its loss of focus do to over confidence or what the heck is going on. Lamar continues to miss the midrange routes always low or high. All of this needs to be corrected and fast. SuCk put nearly 600 points on UT. We can't let that happen or this could be much worse.

Houston has remarkable field position the entire first half. They converted a fake punt. It was a total letdown by the offense and special teams. I guess you could argue the defense should have held them to field goals like the Wake game.

Louisville ranked #6 in Total Defense before tonite's game; Tennessee ranks #76. If our offense doesn't stumble again in the 1st half, you won't see more than half that many yards of slappy offense. Houston had 362 yards of offense last nite...

We don't lose too many 50-40 games; that's on the defense. When you lose 40-10, a big part of that is on the offense. I've seen enough U of L losses like that to tell the difference.

Had our offense been clicking last nite, we wouldn't be discussing the defense...

Just like some games when your defense cant stop anyone, you need your offense to
outscore the other team.

The defense contributed to the loss. Admit it.

And once again you divert. I pointed out the 11 sacks finished off with a safety in argument of my criticism of the O line and you completely side step it because you'd already put your foot in your mouth trying to defend the recruiting, and saying I knew nothing about it. All you have are insults and diversions.

And if you want to know how I know you used to cruise Kingfish looking for women, PM me. Ill fill you in.

Here Zipp, call me a slapd*ck again while you mull over our current OL commits. Here's the list of committments for next season: It's not showing their star ratings, so I'll save you the time and fill you in. Three 2 stars, and two 3 stars.

So you keep hurling insults and dodging the point, and I'll keep providing facts.

Meanwhile the only 5 star offensive lineman in the state of Ky just verbaled to Bama. UofL wasn't even on his list of consideration.

OP is right Oline has struggled and could use improvement. Not sure how that can be argued. Or there is a coach shake up needed there? Or both?

Don't know what you could shake up on the players themselves. I'm sure the best ones are starting, they're just not up to par if we want to compete with the biggest boys. After last night, I have no problem letting Klenakis (sp?) go. He came in with Bobby and if this is the best he can put on the field, he's not up to par either.

Like I posted earlier in the thread, he has 5 OL committed for next season: Three 2 stars and Two 3 stars. That's not going to cut it. We need someone that can recruit better players, then coach them up properly. The current guy is doing neither.

I am not sure how this can be argued.
Want to see klenakis whacked immediately.
High school lines play with a silent count and a d1 line, #5 in the country can not.

We didnt double team that nose tackle once. On many occasions our linemen were simply letting guys pass them.

One of our guys fell down from his stance.

That is coaching plain and simple.

So here's what we know from this thread.

1. All of our OL suck and should have their scholarships taken.
2. Klenakis sucks and should be immediately fired.
3. Grantham sucks and should immediately be fired.
4. Our defense is mediocre at best and some of them (I'm looking at you Trumaine Washington and Dee Smith) should have their jerseys taken from them.
5. OL recruiting is a joke - highlighted by the facts that our current group of commits are not well thought of by recruiting services and as importantly - because we were not seriously considered by the kid that just verbaled to the Gumps.
6. A team as good as UofL should never perform poorly or heaven forbid lose to some joke a program like Houston.

Thanks for clearing all of that up for me. All I can think that at 9-2, how the hell did we ever win 9? Based upon that, if BP isn't national coach of the year, it's a complete screw job...

You were dealing 1-5 , but the rest of it is you being pissed off because fans are pissed off.

How any louisville fan can be happy about our line play last night is amazing. Shaenee high school in its last 1000 games have lost 900 plus of them, but their linemen run a silent count better than the #5 team in the country.

So for any louisville fan that believe klenakis is a solid coach, show me how you come to that conclusion....

3 years in and we are a fart in the wind in downtown chicago.

All you and your type do is sign up for a premium membership and fancy yourself a recruiting expert. You "follow" info on the internet, and act like that info is rock solid. You don't say "I THINK we may have recruiting issues BASED ON WHAT I READ." No, you're a freakin' recruiting expert at the ready when you're overcome with emotion to smear people making ten times more money than you do and working fifty times harder to identify good recruits.

But carry on, because I know how credible you are...

Nobody's "happy" with anything. But like me, you're responsible for what you post. If you're engaging in an emotional, nonsensical rant, don't complain when others point out how ridiculous that is...
